  1. Great list of Analog 35mm SLR and PS cameras to buy this year. I will like to include the EOS A2 and Elan7, they are very good cameras for the Canon DSR shooter. I own 4 of them with no problems. But like you said, they do not have the old camera look.

  2. If you want cheap, look at the Sears cameras. I have a KS-2 that shares a bag with my ME- super for his/hers photography excursions. Nobody knows what they are, and they take k-mount lenses. Also, I really like my Sears & JC Penny k-mount lenses. Also very cheap.

  3. What's wrong with the Olympus OM4.? The battery drain problem is easily fixable. Also, no mention of the Ricoh SLRs which are cheap and excellent. I've had my KR10 since 1982 and it still works fine (and takes K-mount Pentax lenses).

  4. have you thought about mounting the mic on some sort of pole and putting it out of shot? would stop the volume from sounding so booming? everyones ears would appreciate it

  5. I got a rebel GII as a kid new. If you don’t mind the non retro look and plastic, it’s a very capable camera. Put a 40mm pancake on it and you have one of the best point and shoots for $120 all in. Or put a big L lens one it. Your choice. Still have mine.

  6. My AE-1 was a gift from a client, keeps my FL / FD lens line-up alive but the camera is fragile as ever. I’m at a crossroads, I would say I shoot medium format 95 percent of the time but I do want to have a solid 35mm slr. Might be shooting for a canon F1

  7. Surprised you didn't mention the Pentax MX (or maybe I overheard?) – basically an OM-1 but better. Takes regular LR44 batteries, shows shutter and aperture speed in viewfinder, also a compact body with massive viewfinder and all mechanical shutter.

If you want a K1000, you could also get a KX, many more features yet they often can be found for the same or lower price. Similar to the Canon A-1 vs AE-1P situation.

The Takumar M42 lenses really are absolute gems. Best feeling lenses I own, and I have yet to come across one where the focus isn't still buttery smooth.

  8. I really like my Pentax super A & MX. I like how versatile my Super A is as well as being small. It such a pleasure to use. I've hauled it for years all thru Europe, Asia & the Middle East. It's still going strong and is my favourite camera

  9. I recently picked up a Nikon F80 (N80). I didn't know much about it, other than Nikons are decent, and that those SLRs produced when Digital was beginning to come in were all pretty good. I'm far from a camera expert, it's mostly vibes for me, but I'm looking forward to going out and shooting with it.

  10. What are your opinions on the Canon Eos 500? i can find those for 25 dollar where i am from, but the Rebel g go for 60 dollars here. (Also a Eos 3000 qd for 50 dollars)

  11. 👍Thanks for your time and video content.
Great list and I am fortunate to have most of them already in my collection. I recently purchased a Minolta SRT 202 in lovely condition (GAS) but sadly the film take up spool slips, would appreciate any help in resolving this issue.🤞

  12. Have my grandma's k1000 and grandpa's canon tx both were sitting away in storage and untouched probably for decades. Been using the k1000 for years and it hasn't missed a beat also never been serviced. Same with the Canon but I have yet to put that one through its paces to see if it'll last after being neglected for so long. The absolute basic cameras are honestly great first investments.
