  1. It's absolutely mind-boggling to me that modular PSU pinouts haven't been standarized. If the PSU manufacturers don't want to do it, there should have been legislation to force it by now. It's so easy to fry shit.

  2. Very nice speedy racing you have on their. You must be a man that enjoys watches a least a little bit to have on a 2 to $300 watch at the beginning of the video and a 3 to 5k watch at the end. That is unless that is the speedmaster super racing, that would be a 9 to 12k watch.

  3. Hello Greg 👋 have been a longtime viewer And have learned a lot from just watching that being said I feel I'm pretty good at trouble shooting but this one has me stumped! I have a 6600xt and a b550 gaming plus the card will not post and the mobo simply has a vga light illuminated I've tried the 6600 in multiple builds with it working just fine I've also installed multiple gpus in the b550 with no issues get a post everytime for some reasone the 6600 will not post in the b550 another fun fact is that at the beginning of this project the build actually consist of a z490 carbon wifi with a i310100 witch it also didn't post for I've basically have changed every components but ram and storage any help would be appropriated thanks again!

  4. Greg,

Thank you for the wisdom you provide through your YouTube channel with the fix or flop series, this helps me a lot when I am also busy repairing a computer. good episode again.

  5. Had me guessing the whole time. I actually had this same issue on my Asus Z97-a board. Could not get it to power on to save my life. Even swapped PSUs. Nothing worked. Chalked it up to a bad motherboard and switched to AMD lol.

  6. Fix or Flop now requires an at cost deposit of "insert power supply video sponsor" prior to diagnostic. Papa Greg will replace customer's PSU then work on customer concerns. You get a new PSU and You get a new PSU!

  7. Asus Motherboard + Intel CPU dying…something about this seems oh so much too familiar for recent ASUS problems….

Update: Well that took a turn for the worse… DONT MIX PSU CABLES FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS PEOPLE

  8. A neighbor threw out a similar PC. The PSU was dying, gpu fans were dead, the cmos battery was dead and the HDD was dying. I kept the MB, ram, CPU and M.2 as it was an upgrade for me. I sold the Hubs, RGB fans, extension cables, gpu and aio cooler and got a new monitor with the money. I toss out everything else .

  9. Bro, 95% of builders and gamers alike don't know that modular power supply cable can't be mixed up with another psu's cables. And I honestly can't blame them for not knowing it shouldn't be done. Every other type of cable you plug into a computer can be mismatched and there's no problems, so why should a psu modular cable be any different? That's what they're thinking when they swap these cables.

  10. Like 2 min in I could tell it's a power issue, only because I had symptoms exactly the same on a 8th gen intel with mustard cable psu, where I plugged the gpu power into the cpu and the cpu in the gpu and did exactly the same as this pc

  11. Non modular power supplies for the win. You never have to worry about using the wrong cables because they're not removable. Plus, that's a dual chamber ATX mid tower with plenty of space to hold the cables. Unfortunately, non modular is becoming harder to find in higher wattage units because companies insist on making them modular. 750w and below, they're pretty easy to find but they become more rare over 750. Ironically, I see a 750w 80+ Bronze non modular EVGA BP unit for sale on Amazon.

  12. Hello. Congrats for the channel and content. I love it but in the same time i hate it and hate you 🤣. Today my phone he stay on your channel and wach a lott of video. Idk whats more pleasent to lisen to your voice or learning stuff from the problems you have there 🤣. Eney way thank you. You made may day.

  13. Hi Greg, My solution for that PC cable mixup is relatively simple. After I purchase a new PSU, I mark each cable and the PSU the same color using a PAINT-filled marker. This keeps me from using the wrong cable when wiring my PC. If I have another PSU, I do the same thing but use a different color.

  14. Should be a sticker on power supplies boxes warning about do not mix cables between dif models even if from same brand. Only use the cables that came with the box. As most first time builders might not know about that kind of stuff, and would just think ey its from the same brand and it fits. I just use that extra cable from my old psu….

  15. I'm going to call out the power supply manufacturers on this problem. It's 100% a problem THEY CREATED. If the connecters are special to their specific power supplies, then the CONNECTIOS SHOULD BE SPECIAL. There should not be a way to easily get cables mixed up between incompatible power supplies. STAHP IT. This is a real issue with modular power supplies as most normal people will just throw the extra cables in a bin with the other extra cables. Alternatively they could just agree on standards and make them all the same. THE IDEA! What's even the point of changing them pin outs? Just because they can (cause people to burn up their power supplies and buy more)?

  16. from the begginig of the video, i am clear: Assus motherboards are not qualitty anymore, and should be avoided in the future
one can argue as much as it wants, its the reality.Great video Greg, always entertainig and fun video, as always

  17. Those red AIO sleeves were added on?? Or did the AIO come like that?? Not sure if I like the color contrast, but having the option to cover the AIO tubes would be pretty cool. They look like they are zip tied at either end, making me think they are add on covers.

  18. I often get comments saying "Can I use the cables from my old PSU" to which I always reply, absolutely not. So I can imagine this has caught out quite a lot of people. PSU manufacturers should form some sort of standardised pinout for modular PSUs😅

  19. EVGA, bruh… is there any valid reason why a manufacturer would arbitrarily shuffle pin-outs around like that? obviously i don't know anything about designing a power supply, but wouldn't it be cheaper to make your products as similar as possible for as long as you can?

  20. Just makes a stronger case for PSU units to be standardised throughout the industry. Especially with something like power, why are manufacturers still insisting on doing this! Makes no sence at all.

  21. Turns out that it's not common sense to not mix up different PSU Cables… I wouldn't do that just out of common sense, but not everybody thinks like that, and Greg was here to shed some light of what can happen if you do 🙂

  22. Yeah when the thing popped I was 99% sure it was a PSU problem. Wasn't sure what specifically but was absolutely adamant that the PSU needed to be pulled and changed.

You were incredibly unlucky. This was the builder's fault for not giving you accurate information and you had every right to refuse the fix. Fair play for doing it but I don't know if I'd have been so generous.
