According to their website, they have a 7 day money back return policy for used games. Here's a link to see if you have a retro GameStop in your area https://www.gamestop.com/retro-store-locator
Don’t let Double Jump off the hook either.. they are guilty of this same practice.. although they do have bargains from time to time.
I would bet against this working long term. Trading in sports cards and now retro stuff, they don't know these two spaces all that well. How trained are their staff to identify fakes and reproductions? You go trade in a decently used PS1, you get $18 cash or $24 trade, then they sell it for $65. The small sections dedicated to the Retro section is small. They are slowly closing locations and scaling down , which needs to happen. Can't blame them for doing this though. It will get people to come in, but it's a little too late.
GameStop Retro Is a bad thing GameStop just doing that because GameStop not making money people are just going to resell them for $100 of dollars
ok cool, finally "Gamestop is finally being how I somewhat remembered"
But they a rip off on the trade ins
This is a great time to be a retro gamer I got back in about a year ago it’s fun
Will they bring disk buffers back
GameStop has 3,000 stores & new leadership that wants to make all better. This is a good move.
Wow! These prices are almost as terrible as the games on Amico Home!
I visited my store today and they had a small amount of retro games. Nothing too outstanding , I left empty handed. I will check again and hopefully find some gems
My local GS has incorporated a few retro items in over the last few months. Prices have been largely very good. I would never take my collection to them to sell though. My overall opinion is that I'd rather them sell retro than not. It gives me another reason to check them out, it gives them potentially more business, and it may help introduce some classic stuff to younger generations. I do think they should not shun Atari though. Atari is making a comeback of sorts and they should put a little skin in the game.
Interested to know the store policy when you find out you purchased a bootleg version of Mega Man X3 $99?
They are using the same pricing algorithm for trade-in value as they used in the early 2000's back when I worked at a GameStop. Back then people didn't have PriceCharting or a Facebook Marketplace to easily sell their games so many times we had customers begrudgingly trade in games. I don't think it will fly in todays world.
Just checked there Website and not too many places near me to stop into! Maybe more new stores will come out! Good video!
Can't wait to buy something and get pressured by the sales clerk to buy a cleaning kit with it
8 dollars for Pokemon Red BWAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAAAA don't spend it all in one place people. Barely buys you McDonald's lunch LMAOOOOOO
Yea I wonder how retro will do. GameStop is okay but awful trade ins and things are pricey
