If you’re regulator isn’t functioning properly and or there is small amounts of gas sitting in the pipe it can suck the flame is and make a pipe bomb we will see if you keep doing this after you get fired

On new construction, why am I (Hvac) responsible for running your gas lines to your water heaters?

That's exactly right I've been doing that technique for years with the lighter sometimes you can't see the teeny tiny little with soapy bubbles because you can get a false reaction

If you're going to lose a half of your facial hair on your face will you still recommend it and by the way soap detects much better lease sometimes can be leaked so small data lighter cannot pick it up

I kid you not, my mother in-law told me and my husband that they thought they smelled gas. We went to check it out and called the gas company, who came out within the hour and found the problem. There was a leak. She mentioned that their daughter (my husband's sister) had been over and didnt even want to bring their little girl in the house because they were worried ahout the smell of gas. So her husband literally USED HIS CIGARETTE LIGHTER AROUND THE GAS METER TO SEE IF THERE WAS A LEAK.
So I guess thats why they did not explode, was a low amount. We thought they were just really lucky. The audacity of "I dont want to go in the house because we smell some faont gas outside" to "let me hold this lighter around the gas meter with all of us standing around because we smell something".
