Today we take the gearbox out of our Lion lathe and find it may need a bit more work than we first thought. Fortunately we’re used to that!

Another great video, thank you so much for sharing this journey.
Like eating a bag of Lays, once you start you can’t stop. The whole time you were tearing it down I am thinking “ I hope he has a parts diagram “ ! Great video. Be Safe!
Wow.. man.
I’ve done my share of six speed transmissions, gearboxes and converter output drive units, and many other intricate assemblies with all the e-clips and spacers and drive dogs and idlers and what nots… but this gearbox would give me some serious “ member-a-bilities “ haha. Hats off to you sir. That’s a lot to remember, sequencing of reassembly, what gear goes where, what clip, ring, spacer and seal and..
I’m going to loose some sleep for you on this one. I hope you have a parts diagram and some good section/exploited view diagrams my friend.
But, do it right or don’t do it at all right ? 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
15:40 This makes the rebuild I did on an od Army Jeep 3 speed transmission, look like restringing a Yo-Yo by comparison!!
19:24 Are you sure it's not going to be a complete tear down? lol
That's alot of work Kyle.
I know you are up to the task.
Have a great weekend. 👍
Cool! I guess there's still time to slap on a big vinyl graphic of a roaring lion's head on the lathe. 😂
I fully understand the issue of how much editing a channel takes to run, having started one in anger not long ago. Those who dont publish probably dont realise or appreciate how much effort you have put in. So, from me, thank you!
ambitious, and clearly necessary 🙌
Much Respect to you Kyle for tearing into that gear box…….that was daunting just in the tear down………Bravo
thank you so much Kyle……cheers from Orlando, Paul
Do you rely upon your videos, edited or otherwise, to assist you in reassembly? This one looks like a daunting task. Thanks for sharing this excellent installment.
1:28 I do not believe I've seen a Banjo Bolt, used for an oil drain before!!
Take no Rorschach test if you want to stay out of an institution, this is out there hope you have good records for correct reassembly. You have great content in part because you are willing to take risks most would eschew! Ray
That banjo bolt fitting for a drain plug is brilliant!
Did you buy your needle scaler that way or is that an attachment for an air hammer?
Looking forward to end product, fun to watch the process.
I think the only person that didn't know how far you were going to disassemble this was you. 😂
So what you are saying is that the restoration is already completed, and we just have to catch up to the future?
That seemed daunting to begin with to terrifying the longer it took. Hopefully it goes back together smoothly.
What he's saying, kids, is that he's beyond the Event Horizon and we're looking at the black hole from one light month away.
That’s some job not much you won’t take on 👍👍👍👍
Kyle- I found this on eBay for future.
16mm-48mm male threaded metal air compressor oil level sight glass
This looks like a tough one to me. Needs to be done though. Hope it goes back together just the once. Thx for taking us along
This is YOUR world Kyle and reality is whatever you say it is. 🙂 Thank you for sharing kind sir.
Can you please come to my shop and do my Colchester when you're done? It's pretty beat the EFF up, I think you'll enjoy the challenge. Just thinking of you is all, cause im here for you buddy. 😁
Sweet!
