The Google Pixel 8 is a small phone and I’ve been using it for the past 4 months to see how it holds up. In this video, we’ll cover performance, cameras, battery life and the software experience after the updates to see if it still remains a viable contender in the smartphone market.

  1. I am a Google enthusiast but not even 7 months the my Google 8 is broken glitches ,dead pixels,so thats means a black screen. Shattered back even ,to top it was in the case. I am disappointed with Google 8. They got customers to pay more a lot of money for it but knowing within 6 months. There will be no phone to hold because it Will be broken and unusable 😔😔.

  2. Pixel 8 has Android Auto issues with Maps and You Tube Music (files saved to the phone, flac and wav) running at the same time, music cuts out frequently. This is happening since the latest updates, Pixel 5 did not have these issues. Also does not have LDAC for sound like the 5. Does get hot occasionally after wireless charging, again not like the 5. Seems a step back from the 5 that I replaced.

  3. The Pixel line has always intrigued me with its clean Android experience and photography capabilities. This review helps paint a clearer picture of whether it's worth considering for my next upgrade.

  4. Very hard to understand why people keep pony up for iPhones. I wish I could buy a camera in this form factor with no phone or internet at all. Just optimize it as a pocket camera. . I just can not get exited about Pixel Phones. Plus they flip flop from manufacturer to manufacturer. This was an awesome review which convinced me once again to just skip Pixel Phones.

  5. I was a nexus/pixel fanboy but the 7 pro broke me. The downgrade of the fingerprint reader and laggy performance was rough. If Apple has those kinds of qc issues, they’d be roasted everywhere. I guess Samsung is the way to go for android 🤷🏽‍♂️

  6. I bought the pixel 7 in december 2022 since then it's performance has not deteriorated, everything works decently well on it. It still manages a full day on one charge, which for me is from 04:30am to 9:00pm. With my older phones after a year I would tend to sideload custom roms to make them work better, with the pixel there is just no point for that.

  7. I'm really considering pixel 8 it's a bit expensive in India but still… 7 years of software update is what i like the most… I'm hoping they'll offer battery replacements in service centers for that long too cz batteries tend to degrade after 2 years

  8. Just made the switch from an iPhone 13 the Pixel 8 and boy oh boy am I impressed! I've been using the pixel as a media device for a month and it's been such a great experience now that I'm rocking it as my main phone

  9. 5G connectivity is my issue with Pixel. It switches to a 4G network, which is not the case with the realme X7, a 3 year old phone which I was going to ditch when I bought pixel 7.

  10. So basically this phone does really cool AI stuff and a fantastic camera but messses up the general usage stuff and can be laggy on regular apps even those affilaited with google thats so stupid and disappointing

  11. How does everyone (especially these tech gurus) get 6h+ of screen time? I literally get like 3H max with very minimal and average usage… What's up with that? Does it take time for the battery to settle after buying it?

  12. 2:25 The ultrasonic sensor is not faster. I have owned an S10 and now own a Pixel 6a. The S10's ultrasonic sensor is slower than most optical sensors and Samsung said that this is due to the nature of sound being slower than light. However they did say that it was the better sensor in terms of security. I agree with you that the ultrasonic sensor might be more accurate but it isn't faster. This sensor is really blinding though and I would prefer a sensor integrated into the power button it looks much cleaner.

  13. Yea got the Google pixel 8 because I got a great deal on a trade-in. But honestly was really disappointed with Google pixel 6 being that there were all kinds of software issues with simple apps like messaging and google maps. For the amount you are paying It's really not acceptable for simple apps to be so glitchy. I was honestly considering switching over to an iPhone after being an avid pixel user starting with the pixel 1, but with the great trade in offer I'm going to give pixel 8 a chance

  14. I really like the laid back approach of your review process. Addressing specially the everyday usage tidbits and the minor annoyances you encounter on a daily basis. Having said that, the pixel 8 would be well placed at around $500-$550 range and would certainly give many phones a run for their money. I wish we could go back to the times where purchasing a smartphone didn't cost an arm and a leg, and in some cases a kidney too. We can all thank Apple for setting this nasty precedent and others simply followed suit.
