Many a pro has repeated that lighter fluid will not dissolve shellac. I've tested that as well.
IPA will dissolve shellac .
"All along the watchtower" was actually written by Bob Dylan, however Jimmy Hendricks performed my favorite version of it.
Very cool! Just so happens that I'm cleaning a watch while I'm cleaning a watch. Nothing wrong with cleaning by hand but I use a #8 chisel blender artist brush that has stiffer bristles. You could also use your machine fluid to clean by hand. The actual watch cleaning fluid contains metal brighteners to make the brass pop.
