  1. I appreciate review but will never understand for the life of me why audio reviews play music during a review. It tells me absolutely nothing. The sound is compressed when sent up to YouTube and then decoded when played. On top of that the main thing determining the sound quality of the video is what you are listening to it on. Sound demos are a complete waste of time.

  2. I've got 5 Nest Audio's, one Google Home Mini (old, but still works great), 2 Nest Hub displays and two Google Wifi Points (which sound about the same as the Nest Mini) and a Chromecast Audio. Should I have gone with HomePods? No, because:
    1. I do not consider them smart speakers, which for me is an important aspect of having speakers around the house. So, I would have had to buy separate products for that.
    2. Nest Audio is great for casual listening, I use real speakers connected to Chromecast Audio for high quality, concentrated music listening.
    3. The price, my wife would not let me spend that much money 🙂 Still, I prefer listening to a stereo paired Nest Audio compared to a single HomePod that costs more.
    4. Apple doesn't play nice with Spotify
But yeah, if you ignore the price and just consider audio quality, the HomePod is clearly better.

  3. I like Sennheiser… Sony sound profiles are less balanced and offer a bit more range and you can hear stuff you might not otherwise… my experience with Marshall's bluetooth speakers is that the Woburn(II, at least) has far too much bass, but the Stanmore sounds excellent and vibrant like Sennheiser but without any extra stuff like Sony, which, although cool and good for some listening such as podcasts or TV shows — sometimes brings out unwanted sounds or less of a unfamiliar sound with music. The Amazon products I have tried.. OMG way oversaturated with Bass. My Echo 8 2nd gen — the bass is all of the way down. Try playing any rap song with a heavy bass track and you're done, there's nothing you can do and it makes the non-bass frequencies sound flat, even though the 8 really sounds pretty good otherwise. It seems like it's the same deal with the bass on the Studio, and yet I've also read "using two Studios in stero isn't worth it unless you get a sub", but again the Studio just seems way overpowered in the bass realm while underrepresenting everything else. It's gotta be that a lot of people using these live in rural areas with large rooms and no neighbors expressing these opinions — looking to rattle their brains like a license plate holder on the back of somebodies chromed out Mitsubishi Galant. I remember my dad being obsessive with having cranked up bass when I was kid. It wasn't about the volume so much as good sound — but he always wanted the vibration. Something to mimic movie theatres, or something. As an adult, I can say for sure — it's definitely not cool. And, if you're watching anything scary or thrilling or bassy, wherever you spent the relative amount of money on what you're looking for, it'll deliver. You don't need to go above and beyond. There's too many people complaining about lack of bass these days, and not enough people complaining about audio and tremble quality. Sadly I can say these 15w and 30w refurbished Amazon Show units I purchased seem to be all bass with limited output from the tweeters; the studio seems on the same tracks. I have a Philips BT product — same deal as well. All I'm saying — if I wanted to feel like I was at the movies, I'd go there. Also, to me, the Homepod is the clear winner at least in these audio recordings.

  4. I would love to see a comparison between the Homepod 2 and the Studio WITH the sub. they both come in at $300, so it would give a great "which one should have my $300" video. I keep wanting the Homepod, but a have so many Echo Dots as it is, the draw of staying in the same smart-speaker world is strong.

  5. NO QUESTION HomePod sounds best. Listening on my $250 AirPods Pro 2 (which earn my audiophile seal of approval and are great testing headphones) it has better bass, better mids, and much better highs. And the vocals are embarrassing on the other speakers but sound so beautiful on the HomePods. In fact, it’s crazy! The Nest sounded like crap, with no bass and muffled highs, unlike the Google Home Max, which didn’t sound good as an audiophile but did have great heavy bass. The Echo can get louder and the bass thumps, but I listen to rap and I want the low rumble which the HomePod can deliver. Anyway no competition the HomePod sounds better. And if you can afford two, the Dolby Atmos capabilities of the stereo pair just replaced my Sonos setup with Arc, dual Ones, and Sub MIni. They’re that good.
Incredibly, the OG HomePod sounds even better. The bass gets quite a bit lower and it gets way louder like the Echo, without sacrificing any SQ.

  6. Echo Studio can take a wireless sub as well. Which makes my floor vibrate! It's a more flexible device, cheaper and has a smart assistant, unlike the HomePod 2 which has a dumb one. No contest, really. Would be good to get a comparison of a stereo pair.

  7. I used Spotify for 6 years. From 2013. Like early days. But hands down Apple Music is better. And as an iPhone, HomePod, and AppleTV owner, it just makes more sense to use Apple Music.

  8. Excellent comparison. The Nest isn’t in the same league with the HomePod 2 and the Echo. There’s more to sound quality than loudness and bass. Even here in your comparison, the HomePod 2 has better overall sound quality than the Echo IMO.

  9. They all sound like Bluetooth wireless speakers nothing special how to get back to the old component stereo system.Oh yeah if they are ported in the rear they should have a wall behind 12 inches or a little less to get the reflexes from the port.
Thing is you should know that. Do a little research.

  10. The nest is bullshit, and between both the alexa and the pod the pod sounds much clearer (you can easily hear during the rock section) although alexa is a bit louder. I’ll keep my alexa after hearing this.

  11. When Apple launch the HomePod they said that they are prioritizing sound first, second, third and then voice assistance and all the rest. But with this new HomePod I do not know what Apple is paralyzing I did buy one and I am planning on taking it back.
