Luckily there are projects on hackaday we can follow about diagnosing SBS of a battery… so far I could read the data Sorin showed us, with Arduino over I2C.
Windows has to handle the battery management alone, once the laptop can hibernate. A laptop’s battery management software is a curse. It connects to a server, and they decide who is allowed to benefit, and who is not. For example, if you wish to transfer your millions in a cave, the server will destroy your battery. Windows is independent, if you want to, you can transfer your money at the Moon, or in a UFO using your battery.

they don't fail every day I have an issue with fans not working just stop working for no reason both Laptop at the same time it's weird but battery it's fine Bios work fine but don't show up fan running on the two ask tech on ASUS group they SUCKS don't care
ASUS Vivobook 2019 and 2021 Laptop i use a cooling laptop cooling pads instead of the CPU and GPU Fan I bough two new ones not working either I gave up than I use two cooling pad gave me a low cooling CPU and GPU works fine got 40 C and 32C I take off the back cover. on both Laptop and level up the the cooling pads to get more air under the cooling pads at list i can use my two Laptop instead finish in the dump site $2K in the garbage.

just advice relating to wrong cells voltage indication in the NLBA1 software. If they were confirmed with multimeter but there is big discrepancy in software, it could be still software bug, not chip bug. For example wrong cells voltage channel was detected. There are many cells voltages channels across different vendors, because they are outside SBS standard scope. So sometimes software catch wrong channel. In the beginning it was observed they were detected correctly. The solution is to charge or discharge all the cells a bit to change full voltage, and shift its value outside collision area. Then software detects it correctly.

When Sorin worked in the shop there was more variety. Now 99% of the repair jobs are notebooks. Quite interesting but electronic repair is much more than just repairing notebooks. I miss the shop times.
Maybe manufacturer BQ company can provide a more affordable option to fix laptop batteries. Anybody contacted them?
