Fun fact: Browning also made the first gas powered heavy machine gun, or as we all like to call it, the BMG. The Military didn't believe him when he said you could power a firearm with expanding gas. He modded the ever living f*** out of a lever action rifle with a spring loaded plate in front of the muzzle with a hole for the projectile. They wanted to see it shoot for a minute STRAIT so he made it so you could keep dumping rounds in while operating… By the time a minute was up, it was firing on its own from the heat in the chamber… Then Browning figured it was a good idea to shroud the barrel and fill it with water.
