This video refers to AI available now and perhaps next year. In 3-5 years we will be able to state the problem or a business idea in plain English to AI, which will then ask us additional questions until it gets clear picture of our needs, and then it will build that solution, test it and deploy it for us. So instead of having several senior developers, devops engineer, cloud and cybersecurity engineer and possibly product manager etc… everything will be done by AI. In my opinion this is 3-5 years away. At that point 80%-90% of all tech jobs will be lost to automation. In 10 years from now 95% of all jobs, not just tech, will be lost to automation and we will enter new post-work era. A completely new socio economic system never seen before. I'm a 20 years IT veteran, working in one of the largest software company. Personally I'm an IT veteran with over 20 years in tech industry and currently working in one of the largest software companies. I'm in my mid 40s and I don't see myself or anyone in my organisation who is my age of younger reaching retirement age in any industry. I love IT so I'll probably continue to build stuff for fun, but that's it.

Learn yourself before using the tool (AI is like the 21st century's calculator…), and then use the tool to make you faster at the redundant things you used to do all the time once you have fully grasped them (1+1=2).
Use of AI tools have made some tasks really easy and It has enabled us to to focus on more advanced stuffs. So there is a transition that is happpening in the industry. Really excited to witness the shift. And as always the crystal clear explanation of Andrie makes this video more valuable.

I can imagine the fear of AI taking over junior roles is casting a shadow over the tech mentorship and bootcamp industry because newbies are scared and concerned.
