The 3rd Hyperkin throwback has the lowest price tag and the least to offer, and I have to wonder how this controller fits the retro wired family.

  1. My only gripe, and it's a real nitpick, the bands on either side of the stick are not the centering springs. Those are the yoke/axle that transfer the movement of the stick to the x and y sensors. Your point is still true though because after many hours of getting slammed around by some buff thumbs they can get waller'd out, stretched open so to speak and the effect is the same. Stick drift. That's why I prefer the ginfulls over the k silvers because those yoke/axles are much beefier.

The actual centering spring is under a rubber diaphragm beneath the stick.

  2. The duchess style literally was a standard in Australia, I knew one friend that had the big Duke, all of us all had the duchess style controller, that's the one my memories were formed with not the Duke. Never understood it, waayyy too big for my hands.

  3. I really hope Hyperkin can improve their quality going forward, and get modern amenities in their controllers such as wireless even if that's bluetooth, via a dongle, or multi-mode. I also hope they do a series of modernized classic controllers, rather than trying to stay as true as possible to the classic molds, do what 8BD did with the SNES design with its various controllers, SN30, Pro 2, etc., just take classic shell design language and mash it with modern input design language, create a retro-inspired modern and fully original product; and I'm not talking about something like the Flydigi Vader 3/4, that's just a modern Series-esque design with the black and white buttons slapped onto it, I'm talking about original design intentions but in a modern context, an upgraded original, like a restomod car.

  4. I never had any issues with the OG Duke however I'm glad for people who prefer & grew up with the S Model Controller can enjoy those OG Xbox backwards compatible games with it. I never held a Controller S Model in person before so I'm interested to see if Hyperkin delivered it. Thank you for your review & thoughts.

  5. Having grown up with the Controller S for the XBox and not being a fan of the Hyperkin Duke, I'm actually looking forward to getting my DuchesS. I personally find the S controller more comfortable than the Duke, but hey, different strokes for different folks.

  6. So I finally got the hex phantom PS five controller and I have to say is the best controller I ever use as far as the button layout it rest right how I hold my controller
