  1. Currently trying to use my Ioniq 5 as a home generator and using its V2L capabilities to run the small base load of the house during a power cut. Typically under 1.5kw load between sockets, internet router, lights and CCTV camera system etc. Set up cheaper than buying home batteries that pair with our solar panels.

  2. IONIQ 5 to the cabin (that does not have power) is amazing. Plug in power tools or use an extension cord into the cabin to charge up electronics, run coolers, coffee maker, airfryer etc… Love it!
Last winter when we had a day with crazy energy prices I ran washing machine and dryer from the car! 😀

  3. I've noticed similar efficiency when charging Ioniq 5 with the wall socket charger. My presumption is that while the car is charging it still runs either battery cooling fan, or the coolant pump, or both, because the grills are always open. And because charging speed is low, and charging time is huge, if some system runs all the time and draws energy, these losses are more noticeable. Of course, I don't know how it works exactly and even less I know about Škoda, but it is a possibility. It would be interesting to compare losses not in percents, but in kWh during 2.5 kW charging session and during 11 kW session. If these would be +- the same, then my hypothesis could be correct.

  4. Charge your big car battery at work for free, go home feed that into your home battery and next day in peak rate sell the battery charge back to the grid to earn money on it – stealing from your employer?

  5. Just one thing. As soon as you plug the V2L adapter into the Ioniq 5,turned on or not, it starts charging the Ioniq 5 12v battery constantly so that’s where you will have some losses.

  6. Two comments: 1. My I5 supplies 3.6kW every time I use V2L. 2. Why do you need to use a granny cable? Why not a normal charging cable from V2L port to consumer port?

  7. It would be interesting to see if the loss is the same from 800v -> 800v car. Will the loss be the same or different… If the hyundai converts something before outputting or not??

  8. Déjà venu sur St Tropez en juillet et contrôlé par la municipal. Aucun soucis. Je viens de Montpellier et visite de ST Tropez. Et on est reparti vers Antibes. Aucun soucis
