Hyundai have dialed down the torque on the 2024 to 255 NM from 395 NM on the old Kona. That’s probably why it’s slower in 0-100 km/h. Should reach max Hp round 80 km/h so it won’t hurt the overtaking performance.

If it is anything as Niro then the tourque is limited at low speed to prvent wheel spin

My brother has a 6, maybe 7 years old daughter. During the Covid two years ago "she" got a letter from the authorities regarding Covid. After reading the letter, she asked her father if she can work in the government when she is grown up! 😆😆
Maybe they have thought that the insurances could be more moderate if the car isn't considered a sportscar!?
Then we can hope that a car with a little bit stronger motor lasts longer.
In reality I think it would be good to have a decent acceleration from 80 kmh to 120 kmh.
In the wintertime in Finland you don't need good acceleration nor high maximum speed, as most of the roads are limited to 80 kmh!

Nothing slow about 8 seconds 0 – 100kmph. Adequate is 10 seconds and few exceed this in daily driving.
