This is one of the hardest Nintendo consoles to take apart and work on. Can I transform this beat up 3DS into the ultimate NEW 3DS XL?

Absolute pleasure to be involved with this pal 😊❤
Who else thought that this guy was going to upgrade the cpu and/or gpu with that intel upgrade in the thumbnail?
I was really hoping for a better than the original screen
Absolutely love this! I'm incredibly excited to see how it all comes together. Videos like this add a lot of elements into the build that I wouldn't have thought of. It makes me wonder why auto manufacturers don't try more lol
One can certainly appreciate the level of resolve and patience put in order to achieve this remarkable refurbishment. The level of craftsmanship is commendable and inspirational. Putting more effort to replace the top screen again is certainly not preferred by most hobbyists/repairmen. Well done 👍
Anyone else feel satisfied watching tear downs and rebuilds…cause I do
"i received a broken 3ds with a top screen that doesn't work, so i tore it apart, put it all back together and now i have a 3ds with a broken top screen!"
brilliant.
These are one of my least favorite handhelds/consoles to repair. It truly is a nightmare to replace that top screen.
What usb is that to mod the 3ds want to get it to mod mines
Ah yes, the ultra useful UPGRADE chip. Fixes anything up to new AND BETTER! Good job, intel! I need like a hundred of these chips for my computer!
Nice! Bought the capture kit as well. Not looking forward to taking a dremel to the thing though.
Macho nacho did this same capture card mod and had something that made trimming the bottom shell much easier.
Where did you buy the screen I have a red101 n3dsxl and can't find a replacement top screen
110% gonna put a type c charger on mine soon, and change the shell
I have a lime green one also, LOVE IT
A shame about the screen, but awesome build!
I have recently picked up an ultra thin soldering iron, found it super useful for those really precise jobs like that audio cable. I didn't know they existed but they do, it's like surgery!
playback speed = 2
This would be amazing for playing on a CRT monitor, the 3DS main top screen is 5:3 (400x240p), so on a 4:3 CRT monitor @ 800x480p (line doubled), you will have minimal black bars on the top & bottom, 90 lines on top and 90 on the bottom, 5:3 is 4:3 basically but with just less vertical resolution (not as little though as 16:9, which is nearly 50% lower vertical screen estate vs 4:3, 5:3 only sacrifices about 10% vertical screen estate in comparison), so most of the screen will be filled nicely, 3DS games with full-fat motion clarity is so nice, the bottom screen is 4:3 of course, but the beauty of this is you can use the bottom screen as normal whilst using a big screen to play, but for games that use both screens, like Sonic Colours, you could have 2 stacked monitors for the ultimate DS setup (I say DS as I see the 3DS & DS as the same platform, the 3DS is just a DS Pro so to speak, though the DSi XL had much better screens, that is it has dual IPS 4:3 displays, whereas the 3DS has less vertical resolution as I said earlier, though only a 10% reduction, but worse than that, it uses TN (twisted nematic) LCDs, unless you were lucky enough to get an IPS model, some even had dual IPS, this is rare however, and a dual IPS 3DS XL goes for a hearty premium on fleabay, and lastly, they have inferior subpixels, and the bottom screen is almost an inch smaller versus the DSi XL @ 4.2 inches for the DSI XL & 3.34 inches for the 3DS XL, so the 3DS had better internals as far as processing, but inferior screens, audio, dpad.
If Nintendo had just upgraded the DSI XL with the 3DS specs, it would have been a much better console to say the least, not to mention given the DSi XL dual analogue sticks, Nintendo was to focused on a pointless gimmick, instead of focusing on quality controls and the displays & audio quality, the same was true for the Wii, so many games would otherwise be absolute gems if it wasn't for the mandatory motion controls that ultimately just don't work, the Wii is packed with absolute gems, and once you play them with the modified controls that allow proper analogue and buttons to play, they are actually fantastic games, I'm really hoping some clever fella or gal produces a Wii motion to analogue emulator gamepad, so that we can play these games on real hardware rather than emulation, all you need to do is convert the X/Y motion axis to normal analogue, it just needs to be done in hardware for use with the Wii, the nunchuck is already normal analogue, so it's actually only the left main analogue that needs converting/emulating, and the IR pointer can just be emulated via a simple button press to make the right analogue operate as the pointer when pressed, so many games would be made playable if someone did this.
I have a 3ds that needs this help and mods. How can I get it done for me?
Where's the Intel chip you promoted it's the only reason I clicked on your video
I absolutely loved this video.
Can someone tell me if the sd reader of the new 3ds is the same as the one of the new 3ds xl?
awesome ❤❤❤
what a let down for for new screen to have problem, hope you will update the video after replacing it again, but overall great mod man
