  1. ok, so you want to create some "drama" and thrill, but… you know very well that you just have to read the EMC and serial number under the pedistal to know everything about this imac…

  2. Cray, cuz last week my cousin Vin found a Lamborghini in the trash. Obviously, it was broken but I think he can fix it. He's also going to make a video on fixing it.

  3. I to did a trash find but a iPad aero (2016 I think) it is however locked to a "account" that no longer exist as the server it ran on is now trashed/discontinued. What is sad is that it is fully functional as I saw when I first turned it on, but as I had no interest in snooping on the last owner I (unwisely it turned out) did a factory reset as I would on a Samsung pad to get a clean "fresh" start. Now it will not let me reinstall the os without the user name and password that no longer exists, does any one know how to wipe the associated account or how to install (and witch is the best) a third party rom on this to again make it usable? Just to make clear, I found the store that sold it and the person who bought it and they had no objection to my usage/ownership of the iPad. I find it foolish of apple to hinder a second hand market as it is free advertising, if I like this older iPad I am more likely to buy a new one, I would never buy a new one un tested for a few weeks as it is way to expensive if I do not like it first.
Can any one help or point me to a source that can with this or am I forced to simply put it back in the recycling?

  4. It looks like only the glass was cracked… You should've been able to remove the glass by either freezing or heating the LCD, and then replacing the glass… Replacing the entire LCD probably was not necessary

  5. The crack has no effect on the screen or running of the computer, I personally would just place a little sticker or some tape over it. What an absolute waste of a working computer.

  6. Considering your costs to repair and upgrade this 4K iMac, it will be interesting to find out how much you eventually sell it for, considering that eBay similar model for $250.

  7. Guys, never connect any hardware that you find in trash to your local network, reinstall os then it's at least 80% more safe, though not completely, as you can hide viruses in BIOS (for windows PCs at least). We had an employee who found a laptop left next to rubbish bin near our office building, took it in, connected to our corporate network, and needless to say were let go after our internal network got under attack, no real harm was done (other than some employees loosing days work), but at least 50 PCs mainly macs funny enough in that building were encrypted with some crypto staff.

  8. I had to repair a system almost just like this. Replaced the screen and returned the device to the owner. A week later. The screen "fell" out. Had to replace the screen again on my dime. Used MY sticky stuff to make the screen stick. If it comes with "foam sticky" I would use cell phone screen double sided tape.

  9. @Luke – SERIOUSLY! When handling open PSUs like that – spend the $10 on some electricians work gloves which are insulated so you don't fry yourself! LOL

  10. Well you can't expect them to fit any more than a Radeon Pro 555 within that budget when it's that cheap right? What? I cost…. how much??? WTH?

For reference – this GPU literally gets curbstomped by just about anything else from this gen. A GTX 1050 mobile – is like 1.5x as powerful – and that chip was BAD already! How they convinced the Apple crowd that this PC was worth it – is INSANE! It should LITERALLY have been – at max – $800 – and that's including the good screen. The hardware inside this PC with an IOS install – was low end! Like not even being funny here! At the price they sold these – they should AT LEAST have had a Vega 56 in them – and don't even get me stated on the 8GB of RAM paired with an I5.

  11. All of this is another reason why I would never buy Apple – apart from IPads – which for some reason is the only reasonably priced Apple products. Apple don't want you to be able to service/fix stuff – because it goes against their profit margins… but the DO want to dictate what you can install on your overpriced device……. Just… no thanks!

  12. whats the refresh rate and latency? my 24" msi monitor that i got new back in 2020 was 270 usd and its 1080p, 1ms and 144hz. thx for the video this was fun to watch ✌

  13. I would have thought the screen crack was a result of it hitting the bin.
Those software startup times strikes me as the reason it was thrown out, only $250 for a way faster model

  14. What kind of jackass throws an iMac, or any electronics, in the trash. That stuff should be recycled at a proper facility and not just with soda cans and paper. C'mon…people should do better.

    Great video! Keep this up.

  15. Apples absurd way of installing totally uncovered power supply’s in its computers is a good reason to buy a MacBook, if you need to service it the risk of it killing you is drastically reduced. So long as the batteries don’t need to be removed anyway.

  16. Unfortunately I feel they have gone in the wrong direction to far. The screen is not acceptable at this price point, the cameras seem to be a downgrade and still suffer with hit or miss. Thank you for your honesty in this video.

  17. can you explain why the exposed traces are so dangerous? surely if you just put some metal over all of them and connected that to ground (while having the mains unplugged) the traces would then be grounded and completely safe

  18. Don't be so scared with the power supply, just short the mains capacitor's connecting points and you're good to go. Also if you don't shut it down and just unplug it while it's on. The capacitors will discharge themselves.
