  1. Test drove a Quattroporte yesterday and the difference between this and that is huge. It’s a shame they couldn’t get this one right, it would have sold in good numbers if it had.

  2. The earlier Quattroporte 5 and Gran Turismo models were made when Maserati was under Ferrari, and they shared many components. They aren't perfect but the naturally aspirated, Ferrari-built V8 engines are amazing – no fakery needed. The later ones were made under Fiat Chrysler and not in the same league sadly.

  3. It's the wrong spec with the greatest respect. Before the Trofeo came out, the petrol V6 was the one to have. Sounded awesome especially with a Larini exhaust. Also, the V6 Petrol in S form is way faster than the diesel. 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and 0-100 in 11.4 seconds with a top speed of 177 mph. They're tuneable as well. You can get 460 bhp out of them very easily and that'll drop 0-60 in 4.4/4.5 ish. With some internal changes, 500 bhp is achievable.

You also need the extended leather package on the dashboard which makes it a far nicer interior. The major issue is that going for a V6 Petrol S and spending money on the interior would have meant a price of at least £20k more.

  4. Im quite disappointed about that 😂 i was planning on buying 1 when i trade in my old XF 😢 but i think that's possibly worse than the 14 yr jag I've got. Best buy a cls

  5. I was on my way down to Berrow Motors with £15k cash in my pocket to buy a white diesel Maserati Ghibli…until youtube recommended that i watched this video, thanks Joe you helped me avoid it. 😁

  6. I had one last year for a few months. Always had 'premium' cars. I enjoyed 5k miles in it, does nothing badly but also does nothing spectacularly well.
The engine is a VM Motori so like all the interior switchgear can also be found in a Grand Cherokee.
It is noticeably wider than a Jag XJ which it replaced.
I found the gearlever action infuriating – going between Drive and Reverse quite often ended up with being in Park or Neutral.
Also little ergonomic quirks like the Cruise control switch being cack handed to use.
It's nice in isolation but if you have experience of or have owned its competitors its an 'also ran' or a 5/10 car.

  7. Lovely cars Maseratis- only tiny slight issue is that every time something went wrong … get used to the phrase “ small hole in the rad – that’s an engine out job mate “ – “leak in a hose … no problem mate , first thing I need to do is get the engine out “

  8. It looks beautiful, but surely a petrol engine would be better suited to an Italian luxury brand, and looking at your other stock I'd go for the Volvo S90.

  9. Lol get the impression you dont like it joe !! Not sure i would have done that video to be honest hope you haven't got it on your car stocking plan cause you may have it a while now ….

  10. This is the kind of consumer information we need. Those other YTs that pretend to give an honest review but are actually chuffed they’ve been given a press car and don’t want to ruin a relationship with the brand so give a weak af review. This is great, more of this please!

  11. Did seriously consider buying one, a coupe of years ago, but avoided it for the reasons you mentioned plus very cramped in the rear and very expensive running cost. But still love the shape and brand
