  1. I loaded up a thumb drive just to find out this brand new (2 years ago) fancy tv seems to play all sorts of files, but not AVI files. Which i found just bizarre. Like how can it play mp4 mpg mk4 but not avi. Kinda feels like buying a car where the windows can't roll down.

  2. I used to work in post production duplication, BetacamSP, digibeta, 1inch to vhs or Dvc pro or Betacam Pal to Betacam NTSC and the format that gave the most issues was fudging VHS😡😤 but at the same time vhs was the most rubust 😂

  3. 05:50 – Probably it's easier to slide in that clamp back through that hole in the clear plastic. But then again, pushing the tape in and holding it in place for that may be a B.

  4. maybe the customer's TV has a USB port but it is only for factory debugging and loading firmware and not for playing media files. I have older TVs that have USB ports in the back but I know that they don't play media files.

  5. You've got to charge in this occasion too much work to figure out someone else's problems. If you had a few tapes I understand but most of the tapes or all you won't be able to charge. That's not fair to you.

  6. 5:49 this hurts to watch. you know those are supposed to slide on and off through the hole in the reel right? instead of popping it out sideways next time try sliding it off up and down.

  7. It's a nightmare to get the leader tape back in when it snaps off the reel, particularly when the hole in the plastic flange isn't lined up with where the little retainer is. I actually keep a few spare reels with leader tape still on them so that if this happens, I can just splice it onto that reel and put the tape back together. No fiddling necessary!
The tape that had previously been opened up may well have snapped in the past and been repaired by the previous owner. I've seen tapes like that – even done it myself back in the day!
