  1. Glad you found the right guy to fix the fridge, When I lived in the Philippines I got ripped off by a Electrian who claimed the wiring in the whole house was bad fortunately my nephew stepped in it was just a bad outlet the guy wanted to charge me 35000 pesos we sent him running he was recommended by a family member who thought he was legit things happen, great her brother new some one,

  2. This happens in every country in the world. Nothing new. Do your research before you hire someone and do your research on how to trouble shoot things these days. More and more scammers. Damn shame but it’s the new world we live in unfortunately. Jack of a trades and master of none. 🚫🔨🛠️🔧🪛🪚🗜️⛏️🧰🔩

  3. they usually do a visual inspection check all lines to see where the freon might have leaked. most of the time its found this way, if not then pressure test. fix the leak , add the freon. if leak not fixed , freon leaks back out in a few hours , a week , depending how big the leak is

  4. To diagnose a modern refrigerator you need electronics like a multimeter, chances are you can search for your model on YouTube and find a video on how to fix the problem. Power washing it probably didn't help either

  5. big name fridges will send their authorised technician nearest to your area, and send him to you. usually you pay for his transportation to and from your place for the diagnosis and repair(some do it free depending on the warranty terms). ive had that done with my washing machine , spin dryer etc itll be a bit pricier but itll be a legit repair with guarantee

  6. You should have been invisible from the start…have nothing to do with it. Let the family deal with it and you stay upstairs out of the way. Those guys see you…hehe, to the cleaners my friend.

  7. He was a bad guy. He didn't complete your job correctly and didn't refund your money. The guy that washed it was fishy too. That is what they do, they say they can do a service, then do the easiest thing just trying to get a guys money. We have had several people do the say thing. There are some really good pros out there, but those guys are hard to find.

  8. Interesting – a slice of real life in the province Philippines. Lots of people in that small little house. Live and learn – wait for the uncle next time. You are a sitting duck for a scammer. 3500 pesos does seem like 'you got cleaned, more than the fridge'.

  9. i told my son do not trust anyone not even grandpa or grandma ///////they live in poverty son i am sorry to say that .and he has seen people do just do get the peso …because it means food

  10. Hopefully you recorded the con man's face just in case he returns out of the blue. You are considered rich by filipino standards and he knows the layout of the first floor of your house.

  11. Sorry Brian you are a foreigner in the Philippines and they think you are rich. I have had the same problems. I have my builders, repairers, and friends who know i won;t be conned but if they do a good job I always tip the well….

  12. Holy crazy Asian prices,,We have the LG tech rep clean and check out our fridge twice a year for only 500 pesos each time,,plus we give him another 500,,as a thanks for your time and help..😊 you my friend need to get up to speed on this kind of stuff..I sent your wife on her blog to look for a technical assistance and maintenance company for refrigeration system..they have on the big island..check it out,,especially if you need parts,,they can also suggest how to seal your crack,,good luck..😊

  13. Join the white man club, been there done that, in Cebu. LoL. You should have got the freon guy in the beginning. Most of these jack of all trades master of none, are full of crap, coz they just want your money. Don't believe them. Bob.

  14. So what's worse , getting robbed in the city or get conned by like 3 people In the province. I clean mine two times a year , cut down on repairs. You are much more likely to find poor quality help there.
