I feel like what I would have done is to refuse to fix the screen unless you could replace the battery as well. I know it sounds scummy, but that is a safety hazard.

If I had been a phone repair guy I would not have touched it without getting that battery out of there. Imagine if someone puts it next to them while sleeping, while it’s also charging , I would not want their house to go up in flames bc their battery pulled a galaxy note 7. I would replace the battery, or decline.

The screen probably cracked more because of that battery. But it’s also an explosion or fire waiting to happen. I can’t believe people will walk around with this in their pocket ready to blow their nuts off.
