if you like it on revenant then you have absoluetly no idea how to play revenant.
Necro spear should get a bit more lifeforce and maybe a fear on some skill.

Tbh I was disappointed with Rev's spear cause I was not expecting a spear to be condi.
Wow, a bunch of “Debbie Downers” commenting. I’ve been enjoying land spear beta on Mesmer. Seems a little clunky at first but skills hit like a truck 🛻! For those complaining about the cost, I know you can’t buy a WoW expansion for $25. ANET has kept their promise on getting out content every three months. SOTO wasn’t my favorite so hoping Janthir will be more engaging.
I mentioned on live Stream that the "Molten tool set" was faster than the "Eldritch Horror set"
From testing I found a few things.
1.hardware is a factor-I.e. Molten sickle is faster than Eldritch harvesting on my old Hardware but the opposite is true on my new hardware using the same account. an i7- Gtx 1660 vs i9-RTX 4090 both tests on a stable 1Gbps connection.
2. I stated it was the whole set but it turns out the Molten axe is the same speed as Eldritch horror wood tool If you cancel the animation.
3.I've gathered less per hour from nodes with Eldritch tools due to early animation canceling and missing the last gathering strike.
4. I'm guessing but think the molten is simply better optimized due to it being through so many updates.

Ranger spear looks really underwhealming. Nah I think i might pass on this expansion. Maybe buy it on sale. We all know the story will suck and housing is not enough to make me buy this.
Mesmer spear should have been ranged.
Ele spear in open world feels best with either core or weaver.
In instance i prefered tempest because i could either achieve better dps or give alac
hope Anet will not nerf what is good already, and just fix what is underperforming.

tried rev spear a little bit last night and initial thoughts are unfortunately unimpressed. feels like they didn't really learn from the mistakes of scepter, all abilities feel too slow to cast especially the AA, the main skill 5 which they want you to spam uses too much energy, its too short range and seems like it wasnt designed to fill any specific gap for rev. its like shortbow but less range and less utility, and less variety of conditions it applies. it does have a cool concept for rotation tho how you spam skill 5 and other skills to get more skill 5, has a good rhythm to it.

Didn't have time to do more than a few random daily chores yesterday, not touched beta, bit unwell, so not up for experimentation.. so having Master Phandrel post such a video is a godsend! 🤩🙏
Thief, mesmer and engi are top, gameplay and animations. I also like revenant but it’s too slow. Necro spear is most boring to me.

So last I heard last night was Ranger was capping DPS over 50k with the spear??? Gonna have to watch the vid again for the necro part, I just thought it felt not to smooth, kinda sluggish…but will watch it again and log on and give it a go. Another great one brother!!! see you in game!!!!
Thief spear is a LOT more involved than you mentioned. Sure, you can spam 2-2-2 and use the 3 combos when needed, but you can do really good damage using 2/3-2-2 and then 4 for a really nice damage buff that puts you straight back at your middle combo, so you use 2 then 3 and then a stealth attack to pile on a ton of conditions and get a lot of initiative back. But, if you try the hard way, be aware that it is really, really bad if you mess the combo up.

Glad to hear you liked it on Necro. I am waiting until we get the final product, but plan on going spear/dualswords for some amazing mobility and they sound like they will synergize far better than gs and staff do with the swords currently.
