Do you have a wider soldering iron tip it Heats more surface area with your solder Wick. Does your soldering iron have temperature control and how high can you do it if it does
Or just clamp it upright in a vise, make sure you have good ventilation and safety glasses on, and get out a big (2000W) heatgun and blast the living tar from the solder side under the component with it, while moving the heatgun(!!!), while putting a gentle(!) pull on the component from the other side with pliers. This even has a chance to get classic PCI, DDR, or PCIeX16 slots out intact (not always, often a few stubborn pins melt out). This also has a chance of setting your donor board on fire, so prepare for the possibility. DIP chips can 95% be harvested intact this way. … When using desoldering pumps, there is a trick – after getting most solder off and the joint cool, grab each wire in pliers from the solder side and give it a jerk to break it free of the remaining solder.
