“Planet Imo 🌍”

My flute is finally ready for collection so I’m off to Domingos Caeiro wind instrument specialist, near Campo Pequeno, Lisbon, to collect it. After meeting my other half for lunch in Pingo Doce supermarket café, we need to sort out a little problem! We later take a leisurely stroll through the…

  1. The flute not only looks nice and shiny, it sounds great. We have a couple of spider plants in our house. Again, these are very interesting vlogs. Thanks for posting.

  2. Imo gets handed free stationery win win!!!

I love the river tribute and the pavers statues. They have some lovely monuments and buildings.

Didn't IB have to buy shoes in Portugal before when he got his wet?

Your flute looks so shiny, like new

  3. 300 is a small daily limit to take out. I think my bank lets me take 1000 out a day, but I never have that much – so I will never know LOL. There are way to many stairs there for me, I can't climb them anymore. I need to stick to home with a lack of hills most of the place.

  4. Hello Imo, glad you are feeling better. That flute is gorgeous! It sounded beautiful. I am currently surrounded by spider plants and plenty of shoots on many of them. They are a favourite here I think. (Canada). We would never see them planted in the ground here, they'd never survive all our snow and bitter temps (-27 yesterday).
A summer favourite outdoor plant is the geranium… which either dies in late fall or you bring them in (I've currently got about 7 of them in the house too), and I was shocked to see massive bushes of them when I was in California. We had no idea how big they 'can' grow because they'd never get the opportunity here.
When I walked down Avenida da Liberdade went straight down the middle, (like you appeared to do) from Pombal to Baixa… stopped and I had a photo of me on the bridge between those ponds. I never even noticed the 'fancy' shops. What I did notice where all the hotel signs at the top of the buildings… reminded me of old Cuba.
A long time ago I saw a really great video here on YT showing how the calçada portuguesa are paved. It's most definitely a special skill.
I was married to a musician (my daughter is also a musician – went to Uni in NY for music as well)… but my ex husband has always earned his income from music… he is a classically trained guitarist (who specializes in Spanish Guitar, Brazilian Portuguese and Flamenco… he is also a brilliant singer. Anyway, being kids of the 60's and 70's… he can also 'rock' the guitar too. His Dad is from Argentina and was from here… very Irish-Canadian, so he equally does a lot of pub music. He build himself a small stage (from his Mum's rebounder) to bring to pub gigs so in order to try to avoid the drunken women (he happens to be quite handsome) and the women as they drank (men too but the women were worse LOL)… they never respected boundaries… I don't know how many times he his mic would get knocked in to his teeth. I think that was really the most annoying part of the gigs for him. He's has played for a former prime minister of Canada and he has loved busking. His audiences have been as varied as anyone can imagine… but I think that's what makes a fine musician. Playing because you love it and are willing to work really hard at it. I've never met anyone so dedicated to his craft… practicing finger exercises and vocal warm ups for hours… One of his daily pieces was Malagueña, and Asturias… I did love when he'd be practicing. Marriage didn't last forever but there are some good memories that do.

  5. Glad to hear you've recovered and feeling better. Hooray to getting your flute back in top notch playing condition. Yes, I have 2 spider plants in the house.. they're one of my "staples". ha One is a straight leaf and the other is a curly leaf. Those roots under the sidewalk could be a tripping hazard. For me anyway.

  6. Ah how wonderful Imo, you must be so chuffed to get your flute back! I do love a spider plant, I've pulled many a long shoot from plants over the years. Such a shame you couldn't get any shoes, I loved the lilac ones and such a good price too. Have a lovely week 🪴😊

  7. When you said bullring I was totally looking for my local shopping centre 😂

Would totally recommend getting a travel cash card. I have a Caxton one and they’re great for using in multiple countries without getting any fees on transactions

  8. Glad you’ve got your flute 🪈 back Imo. And good to see you out and about again after being unwell. You still sound like you’ve got a head cold bless you. You’d be wise to take your old flute to the pub gigs. Especially after paying all that money to get your favourite one repaired.
The pavements are impressive there. Those statues of the men that made them were amazing.
Such beautiful buildings there, I’m enjoying seeing them.
I enjoyed listening to you having a practice with your newly repaired flute too. 😊 xx
