  1. The problem with these big companies is they have a legal team in house, getting paid regardless of workload. They need to prove their worth and keep themselves busy sending silly scare tactic letters.

  2. Believe it or not my comment was not posted. I don't know why. I shall attempt to repeat it.

For those that don't know YouTube's ad strategy now claims that every ad is sponsored on every video. You get anywhere from 20 seconds to a full minute with each ad break, with as many as one ad break every few minutes regardless of how long the video is. Some of them you cannot skip at all, others say you can skip after a certain amount of time, but at the end of that time there's only one second left and if you try to skip it will simply freeze the ad. Approximately 1/3 of all the ad breaks are actually skippable.

I cannot afford YouTube premium which is the primary reason that I tolerate the ads. The other reason I tolerate them is because I don't believe YouTube premium is actually ad free. Although I'm sure those of you with YouTube premium will probably tell me differently. As far as I know the only other option is a platform that I have to pay access to in order to see videos without ads. I cannot afford subscriptions of any kind. Unless a platform similar to what YouTube started out as comes along, my only option is to quit watching videos on the internet.

Edit: Louis, if you provide a link where I can make a one-time donation I will do so. It won't be much, and I won't be able to do more donations after that, but I want you to know that even though I can't afford a lot I'm willing to give you what I can.

Edit2: I almost forgot to mention that I watch most of the videos on YouTube on my television. I use the YouTube app for comments and for the live chats on live streams. Using the YouTube app and my television means that I cannot skip ads. The only way would be to pay for YouTube premium and connect my phone to my tv, which I will not do.

  3. Youtube/google is absolutely broken. Monetization was already given up on completely years ago. Google search is terrible now. Just this month I've been witnessing a person I watch, Momo aka MomoMischief, loose her Youtube account because she didn't have a gmail linked to it. Instead she had an old email that was grandfathered in and should've been honored. The account got hijacked and when she's been getting the run around with "support" over and over until they hang up on her every time. Google's company at this point is so scattered and lost they can't even help a successful creator regain access to their account. I feel like the only way something is going to change is if we can have a mass exodus to a new platform or if people with good intentions and power behind them, like I assume Rossman to have now, to hold them accountable and don't pull those claws back until something changes.

  4. Louis, you are the man. I know you hear it a lot, but you should run for office. I know it’s a shit job, but what we need are civil servants who don’t actually want the job. Keep on keeping on man. You’re like a honey badger.
