The new Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 is a collaboration between Lenovo and iFixit for a new future of repairability. At least that’s what they claim. To put that to the test, I disassembled it on camera without consulting any guides.

  1. maybe thats just me but i i find lenovos current lineup ugly. and i dont mean the "boxy" thing with the thinkpad range, actually liking that because there is a lot of benefits connected with that (better cooling, better keyboard etc.)
but: the silver logo badge on the side, thinpad logo 45° in the corner, the camera ridge … all of them scream "unnecessary" and "not designed to work with each other". putting ugly ogos and badges on something is really the most clumsy attempt to make something unique.

  2. They did SO much right! Serious kudos for re-introducing the RJ45 Ethernet port. Serious kudos for the replaceable, non-soldered RAM! One miss though is the soldered wifi card. 9/10.

The new Ryzen processors are the closest thing on the market to approaching Apple's power and efficiency with the M1/2/3 processors. I have a P16s AMD that I use as my daily driver and the battery life is amazing with it's 15w 8 core AMD processor.
