  1. Ok Tony, heres my idea of a small compact trick board. Start with a smaller lighter motor, 4 or 5 inch hub. Make the board size somewhere between a pint and a xr. Then integrate a swappable battery. Swappable battery means you can use a smaller, lighter battery. If your battery dies just slide in the spare battery that you keep in your pocket. Design it so that there's a latch on both sides of the board to release the battery then the battery slides out the back . The battery would be encased in its own shell with its own bms. The connection would be made similar to a power drill battery to where the prongs can move slightly to prevent stress when hitting bumps. And make the connection prongs out of a non corrosive metal.

  2. Rather than a small trick board, I’d say go big… as in an 8inch hub – especially if getting near euc-level watts is a goal. That will give more clearance for a thicker battery + controller box, say 30s3p of 21700s, and you might still even have space left to make the batteries modular and flyable, like with the vxwheel. Rails could still be lowered to retain stability. This might give us the power and stability we need to start doing proper big jumps, when combined with remote tilt. Burris already make a 8in tyre too.

Seeing as Tony’s got the whole adv platform as bespoke/ not compatible with FM/3rd party parts like bumpers, footpads etc, no need to stick with the crowd’s form factor – just make a big-ass hub motor, build a new form-factor around that, and send it!

If it performs, people will definitely pay more than an adv costs for a supreme board like this, and it would be offering something that fungineers won’t do anytime in the near future I’d guess

  3. Great interview Max! And good to learn more about Tony and how he is a rider before starting the company! Would love more interview videos like that for TFL or Craft & Ride, riders like Nico Aleman -‘d others!

  4. I wanted to buy the exact product Tony described, but it was not available and I need reassurance that multiple airlines will allow m to travel with it. The grey area of having a board rejected at the airport is a no go for us business travelers.

  5. Amazing interview. Thanks! To Tony’s question, a travel board would be amazing, but I thought the issue is more the battery voltage and current and not the board size. I love my Pint X. It was my first board and I actually prefer it for off-roading though I wish it had more torque. A travel board would be amazing.

  6. I don’t understand the GT kit you guys were talking about. What is it. And if it gives you more torque do you lose speed on the top end? Thank you. I know it you probably got a shit ton of comments lol. Great interview. And I have not yet messed with any vesc.

  7. a light board with a swappable batteries that are flight approved would actually be a dream…
I'm from Poland and I'm thinking about taking my board somewhere warmer for a week… but the only option is road/train travel
now I know I have to set up some way of crypto payment for march 🙂 does anybody know If revolut options are enough?

  8. I was a fairly early ADV order and my board came essentially DOA. I was sent replacement electronics very quickly free of charge with expedited shipping and was up and running. No issues since. Also battery drain has not been an issue – left the board for a month with about 5% battery drain. Super customer support – but yeah ADV might not be for everyone if you don't have riding experience and aren't willing to fix/diag yourself. For the experienced, VESC is a game changer for getting the ride you want.

  9. Great interview! My thoughts for a new trick style board would include: lightweight, airplane friendly, hot swapable batteries, W rails, bumpers that screw on from the sides to delete bottom screws.

  10. It is just so refreshing to see the owner of a onewheel like company sit down with someone from the community and have an honest conversation. Tony is part of the community! This has been one of my biggest issues with FM, they feel so disconnected. It's really sad.

  11. Great video. Thank you both for this update. I need to get in touch with them. I ordered one, but I guess my usdc didn’t go through cause I just looked at it and it’s still in my account.

  12. In regards to Tony's question about whether or not we need a small board that's travel friendly, I think we need an easily-swappable, flight-friendly battery for a pint-sized board.

I would love to be able to take my Pint X to another country and hit up some trails but there's no way I can get it on a plane.

  13. ADV and GT owner here. Second the "GT as a beginner" aspect, but very happy with my ADV now. Excited about GTV and ADV BM2 (my ADV self discharges much faster than the GT).

Would love an air travel compatible floatwheel!!! OMG… Please take preorders!

For now, the GT will be my daughter's "trainer board". 😊

Keep out the dealers. The crypto order process is not that difficult and if anything, it may bring more people in touch with crypto, double bonus for them! Shipping to Germany worked flawless and fast. Only reliable shipment tracking would be improvable.

  14. ADV owner as well. Great customer service! I was mailed a whole replacement motor when mine had a broken pin on the plug. The ADV blows my GT away in power and smoothness. Still learning Vesc but its soooo worth it.. Thanks Tony and Max

  15. I have over 3500km on my Oneweel V1 but the battery is dead now and i have no money for a Floatweel but someday… But living without my oneweel is sad it was the funmachine of every day…

  16. Loved the interview! And thanks for getting our questions in there. Don’t forget about Tech-Rails. They came out with the smaller wheels, cooling axle blocks and GT rails before TFL. Shoemaker has been pushing innovations in this community too. Looking forward to all FloatWheel has to offer. Keep putting out the great content!
