I've read the Ask Wario translation, and it seems that he actually says stir-fried liver, chives, crepes and rice curry is his favorite foods more than that once, including this instance:

These facts are alright, but the real hard hitting lore can be found in "Wario's Warehouse", an official article series where Wario and Waluigi share cheats and tricks for video games, as well as information about the video games. Apparently they steal cheats directly from Nintendo's headquarters. Also, Wario apparently once had Waluigi enter a beauty contest for some quick cash, but it turned out to be a dog show. Waluigi did it anyway and ended up in the hospital because of it. Also, Wario wanted to make Waluigi smarter, so he tried teaching Waluigi to play chess. The first big challenge was getting Waluigi to tell the difference between the black and white pieces, then he tried to eat the pawns, but eventually he made progress when he "learned to tie his shoes". Some of the articles are absolutely hilarious and it's a shame they're so obscure.
Ok think I found where the Farming background might come from the Mario Wiki, which says this in the article for the Dragonfly (one of the Cars in Mario Kart DS)
"The fact that the Dragonfly is a tractor may imply that Wario is also a farmer (In Wario Land II, Wario keeps Chickens such as Hen, and the Fire Attack cutscene from Game & Watch Gallery 4 shows him farming)."
This seems to be mostly speculative. The only other thing I can find is a SM64 hack.
And this gets into the Greentext over the fact that Wario can store 1.1 gallons or 5 liters of piss inside his badder (roughly 6 times that of average man) 22 gallons or 100 litres of food in his stomach, eats bacteria to deal with tooth decay, has never threw up before, has a smooth brain and has bad eyesight which he is unhappy with. All from the Wario World manual.
