  2. Could you not have just drilled 4 new holes in the flange which wasn't broken (basically the same bolt pattern offset by 45 deg from the originals) to get it back together quickly? Just asking for my edification. Obviously I appreciate that it's going to be weaker than original. Cheers,

  3. Very nice repair, but a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. Those cast iron threads are suspect mow due to the condition of the original casting, in the event they fail, how would replace it? would you need to turn a new screw as well?

  4. I like more todays -5 ºC (in southern Finland) than your + 30+ ºC. This winter's record was almost -40 ºC in the northern Finland. I wouldn't like that either. Anyways, I like ice-cream too.

  5. What would the chances be of you and Karen getting permission trom a company to film when you are on site making repairs like on a big mining or earthmoving work site?

  6. The dodgiest piece of “cast” iron. It’s like it was just iron filings packed down in a hydraulic press.
    Unless it was meant to be a failure point to prevent more significant damage from a crash??🤔
