I used to work with a guy that did plumbing. When he was doing a repair job on any water line, after he cut the line that needed repaired/replaced, he would use bread to stuff into the water line. It would soak up the water, allowing him to solder the pipes back together. Once he was completed the, now, water soaked bread would easily flow through the pipes and could just be flushed out and down the drain. Learning little tricks was always cool.
Sorry but If you noticed the hose on the fill valve is laying flat and will siphon out the water. Hose needs to arched above valve. Just saying.
I have a collapsible bucket i carry around and it works great
I might try your method. I put a small bucket under and then just quickly swap the ball cocks. I like a bucket that’s 6” or less deep. It needs to be short enough to fit under a toilet stub out. I used to cut off a 5 gal bucket but lately I’ve been getting blue 1 gal buckets from Home Depot
I needed to see this video this morning!!! The lady let me use her trash can and I did not see a hole in the bottom of it…. let just say it made a mess.
Been doing that for years. Saves time
Nice tip. Will be using that. I mean Carl will be using that.
Hey Bean dip, it’s always good practice to drain and flush out the sediment tlat the bottom of the tank, you lengthen the life of the repair and adds value for the customer
So a dirty fill valve? (Accumulated hard water deposits under the gasket?) Sounds like they might benefit from a water softener too?
Just ask em for a old towel to soak up the water. 🫡
Thanks for the tip!
Ten dollar suction gun off of Amazon gets all the water out. It’s all plastic and won’t rust.
Yup no warranty until it gets fixed
shop vac Milwaukee 18 volt always, BTW love your vids
Don't use a supply line with plastic fitting. My neighbor had his break overnight and caused thousands in damage.
Awesome! I learned something new today!
I always use a sponge but that’s just me
