  1. I pre ordered from Best Buy too. Release day came and went… no shipping notice. I called them and they said “it’s on back order” it was a PRE-ORDER!!! I asked when it would come in and they couldn’t tell me. I said please cancel my order. I went across town to micro center and picked up a 2Tb version for $800. Do not get from Best Buy

  2. I can tell your a console gamer…… Emulators allow you to tweak controls….. So the D-pad issue is mute….. You can set the analog stick to do the controlling…. Joys of customization for windows controls…. But other than that I like the video

  3. Much as i appreciate the innovations and gimmick that allows them to set themselves apart from most handheld PCs, i was initially hoping (specially after seeing that the GO is the same price as ally) that they went into the "keep it simple" way. I think if they kept the track pad but lose the detachable controllers (saving on parts, batteries etc), they could have priced themselves around 50 USD lower than the ally, making them basically the cheapest windows based handheld on the 7840u apu market, a market where price is a big factor given the big price range amongst all the handheld pc options. I hope another manufacturer enters the handheld market soon and goes in that "simple but affordable" direction, though i have a feeling that most are waiting for the 8xxx series or the rumored intel one with DGPU. Nevertheless, the segment is slowly growing and starting to break out of the "niche" segment which is a good thing for us gamers.

  4. The mouse FPS Mode in the bar scenario is the funniest bit I've ever seen on this channel. Had me laughing out loud. The marketing execs mouths are watering right now I'm sure 😄. Great video!

As an Ally owner I'm pretty happy with my device after watching this. It screams gimmick to me. Trying to stand apart with 1st generation features that will likely disappear with time. The Ally seems slicker. More focused. And honestly of all the silly gaming branding I like the white ROG stuff. Super happy to have free sync too. Tearing is annoying.

  5. Man, them big companies keep on disappointing. They really do try to compete with Deck by putting bigger numbers and more gimmicks. Combine it with Windows, crap software and bad ergonomics – boom, expensive toy for enthusiasts instead of being a balanced gaming portable. Steam Deck wasn't the first x86 portable, but the one that was properly designed by people who know what they are doing on every front. We need a proper competitors instead of this "I did this!" niche stuff with no rhyme or reason all over again, releasing undercooked stuff that definitely could be much more if they put a bit more thought. We have enough of those.

  6. Great unbias review!

When playing in handheld / fps mode, do most games already auto bind the buttons? I know for the ROG ALLY, most games are just pick up and go without needing to bind.

Seems like there aren't enough buttons on fps mode to bind everything for some games with alot of bindings.

  7. I was very curious about this device I have a steam deck I think it's great and they use it all the time it's very easy just to throw into my backpack along with everything else I need for my day I'm sure it's too big for most people but for me it's fine it has completely replace my Nintendo switch what show was kind of burned out of anyway I looked at an r o g too many problems and it doesn't seem to be much better I was really curious about this device I don't think it's a good fit I guess we'll see you after a couple months reviews coming out and all that
