I had one of my fingernails ripped off by a door before. It was absolute hell.
It grew back ofc, and I honestly feel better knowing what to expect from the pain, but damn it sucked.

As someone who had lost an entire toenail, i can confirm that this is true. And 6 months is usually the maximum amount of time for your nails to grow back. Otherwise, it can grow back in about 5 months

nah, more likely much less than 6 months until your fingernail grows back completely. when i lost one of my fingernails completely (because when i lifted dumbbells i accidentally hit one of my fingers with both dumbbells i broke something in my finger) well it was painful as hell until they made a hole in that fingernail for the blood to come out, and it took like 3 months until the whole fingernail grew back
Not six months, 1.5~2 will do it. But it will look uneven for maybe 6 months… Don't rip off the loose skin around your nails people….
