Hi, I am a S5II user. I notice that in 6K 30P 420/10-L, I will have 30m00s recording time and in 6K 24P 420/10-L, I will have 1h22m recording time. The 6K 30P 420/10-L will only show a 30m00s recording time for both my 128GB and 256GB card, any idea why?
@LUMIX USA The GH7 is a fantastic camera but it comes with some bugs that are still there after firmware update 1.1 I'm going to address the Issues that I have in this comment section like you asked me to do.
I made 3 videos on here where I tested the autofocus and pushed it to the limits so I know when I go out shooting, what is possible and what not.
1. If I want to take a close up shot of both eyes of someone, (in Human eye and face autofocus detection mode) I mean a very close up where you only see both eyes and a part of the nose, you notice that the yellow autofocus box disappears and the cross which is supposed to track your eye as well. You'll notice that the eyes aren't in focus but your nose is. Because the eye tracking stops working when you move closer to the camera. This test was also done with the Leica 12-60mm 2.8 at 60mm so I don't needed to move to close to the lens to do that test. Then I switched the camera to animal eye detection and like a wonder it did track my eyes perfectly even when I moved as close as possible to the camera! So my eyes were in focus and not my nose. Try it for yourself 🙂
2. When I want to import Lut's into the GH7 in My Photo Style 1,2,3,4, after I set my Lut in, the GH7 sometimes resets the My Photo Style to the default settings. And I have to reset my Luts back in again and again.
3. Lumix sync app disconnects from the GH7 around 7 meters away. On the GH5 I could move much farer away with the Panasonic Image and it didn't disconnect.
I hope that this little things can be fixed with some firmware updates. I'm very happy with my GH7 in general. Thanks
The GH7 CFExpress compatibility page lists a Nextorage NX-B2SE 512GB as supported but lists a Model/Part number of 'NX-B1SE512G/INE SYM'. Which is it?
MP4 vs MOV – There is option of 4K 10bit/420 MP4 in S5IIX. Offlate I have been shooting 6K which also supports only upto 420/10bit and I found 420 files also livable compared to 422. So wanted to know why not 4K 10bit/420 MP4? Are we losing anything in real life usage compared to 4K 10bit/420 MOV? I want to know in the context of practicality when we want to carry least gear along with us like traveling, trekking etc and want to save bit of storage space without compromising the quality to regrettable level.
