  1. Seems like such an expensive waste. I don’t understand console devkits. Especially nowadays, don’t they make them on plain jane computers with licensed specific programs?

Even back then, I think a normal expensive computer back then could be used with right software to make whatever console games.

  2. С1С2 – Возможно : "Console 1/Console 2". Порт параллельного сопряжения двух консолей. При этом, текущая консоль может выступать как ведомой (С2) так и ведущей (С1)

  3. I have sat several times with old laptop trying to look at the PS1 SDk, I read a few pages from a manual, pressed all kind of buttons, read a load more pages of stuff. Results? A headache and a sudden loss in interest for all things gaming for the rest of the day lol
All i want to do is see how the game engine for ALIEN Resurrection was made/ works, literally impossible. And no real suprise the FF8 remaster is so bad, no one knows how to reverse engineer a PS1 game ;(

  4. It gave in Japan only 40 Devices from and a few where at Game Publisher given. So, there isn´t much People that known or knowing how is using of. It should cost about 600 – 800 Euro all other is stupid to give for or an addiction in..

  5. GD-ROMs can be read with a few Plextor IDE CD burners and a patched firmware. You can't create them without GD-Rs, of course, but at least clone them for archiving and emulation. The common way is to use a program on the Dreamcast that slowly transmits the disc image via serial connection to the PC.
The software side of the Katana is pretty much obsolete today as there are better Open Source development tools and libraries available, unless one really wants to utilize WindowsCE for any reason.
The machine itself is just one of the most beautiful console devkits ever. Thanks for taking it apart 🙂
