Im a real estate broker, chris you have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe you should actually look at both sides of a story, and while i usually agree with your viewpoints, discussing something you have no clue about and painting all agents with a negative brush is lazy reporting at best.

If people realized how simple it is to actually sell your own house, they wouldn’t even use realtors. Did a FSBO and was able to work a more favorable deal for myself and the buyer. I was able to drop the price more, while still netting what I wanted.

Low interest rates were very detrimental to the economy. People can’t move from their homes because of the low mortgage even though they can find a better job elsewhere. This is why interest rates need to stay high with QT to fix the problem. We need people to move around to keep the economy moving 🤷♂️

Its amazing what patents exist on things you take for granted. Linus tech tips covered a story months ago about Adobe Photoshop adding an additional charge… for colors, excuse me, colours. I forget the whole deal, but certain colors were even retroactively being charged for, and people that didn't pay up had their old videos turned to black and white. I have no idea how far it went, though.

I been reading Charlie Munger the Complete Investor and there was a section where he talks about how real estate agents will show you run down places first and then show you fancy places that go above your budget then create a sense of urgency by having you bid on the fancy place on the spot. He compared such tactics as when there is a market bubble and people get FOMO buying inflated assets. Book came out 8 years ago approximately and it's crazy seeing some of his teachings in action.
