  1. Aside from the Apple OEM aesthetic and whether you have a newer or older Gen iPad, the latest “budget” Apple Pencil is pretty much a Logitech Crayon in functionality with USB-C.

The latest Apple Pencil, sadly does not work with any of the Lightning port iPads that have Apple Pencil 1 support, so your only choices are Apple Pencil 1 for full functionality or a Logitech Crayon for the budget option.

This is really for anyone with the USB-C iPads (iPad 10, Mini 6, Air or Pro Models) and you don’t need the pressure sensor, it’s essentially a Apple OEM version of the Logitech Crayon with the main advantage having a magnetic connector and power off and the hover feature for the latest pro models, but the disadvantage of not being backwards compatible with Lightning like Logitech Crayon which seems to be more universal.

  2. You have to love the spin on all Apple videos. Is Samsung pulled? This people would be talking about how terrible it was but somehow Apple always is right, no matter what decision they make.

  3. 🍏

    APPLE SHOULD MAKE AN
APPLE PENCIL THAT SHORTENS SO IT CAN DOCK INTO A MAGSAFE CHARGING PORT BUILT INTO AN IPHONE CASE THAT IS NEEDED BECAUSE OF THE CAMERA BUMP AND FRAGILE BACKING AND TITANIUM.

LATER A PROTRACTOR, A VOICE-RECORDER AND PERSONAL ASSISTANT AS WELL AS A LASER-POINTER COULD BE ADDED.

  4. That free s-pen delivers more features than 150 bucks apple pencil 2, it can do every thing apple pencil do, and more features like hand gestures, no need charge it to write, the tip is way better while writing.

    Just accept the facts

  5. Why nobody talk about the compatibility? This new one also supports iPad 10th gen. Which means apple intentionally blocked us from using 2nd gen pencil on Apple iPad 10th gen otherwise how it’s gonna support the new Pencil?

  6. For that I’ll just buy my daughter an Apple 2 Pencil for her 10th gen iPad and let her charge it on my iPad Air. Apple always splits the goods. I have a love HATE relationship with them. You can’t get an Apple 2 Pencil with the newest 10th gen iPad. No they have to mess up the experience.

  7. I’m going to just call that a huge fail. Plenty of third party clone pencils on Amazon that support USB-C and wireless charging, bluetooth based battery level reporting, etc for under $30.

  8. Very true but to me, it’s to be used with new upcoming devices that don’t have the side charging capabilities as the iPads. That’s the only reason I can think of. It charges fast enough already or maybe it can be wired to the Vision Pro for long spacial drawing sessions or something…. I don’t know mannnnn.

  9. Why would I want this pencil? Makes no sense. Now I definitely won’t be buying an iPad this year. I wanted a new pencil along with a new iPad but I guess not. This is a step back an a wast of there time. No one is going to buy them.

  10. To me it would had make more sense to just have Apple Pencil gen 1 as the entry level. Since you have to use adapter on the iPad 10 gen, why couldn’t you use it on the other iPads?

Then have Apple Pencil 2 has the mid level and then a new Apple Pencil Pro, with more features and an eraser button on top as the pro level.

  11. If you think you might EVER decide to use the pencil for art, get the second or first gen. The new pencil has no pressure sensitivity at all. Itll save you from having to buy a first or swcond gen.

  12. Does the new USB-C pencil hover feature work with M1 iPad Pro, or does it only work with the M2 iPad Pro?? The chart on Apple website says that it supports hover on iPad Pro, but does not say M1 or M2 or both iPad Pro. If it works on the M1 iPad Pro, then does it mean that the Pencil 2 now also hovers on the M1 iPad Pro? because before, it only hovered with M2 iPad Pro. Anyone know for sure?

  13. What an odd choice for Apple to leave out the pressure sensitivity. I guess this Apple pencil USB-C is not for drawing professional, only for note takers. But then again, if it also had pressure sensitivity, then it would anabolize Apple pencil 2 sales, so it had to be missing to protect the top Apple pencil.

  14. Kingone released a pencil for 20$ in india with both type c and magnetic charging. And supports every feature except double tap and pressure sensitivity and supports every ipad after 2018. Shame on apple
