Every major Japanese publisher is publicly traded. Almost all of them have been pledging allegiance to DEI for years. Japan fell years ago, we're just now seeing the aftermath. With Nintendo you only need look at all the trans crap in Pokemon S/V.

Thankfully Nintendo of America is not SEGA of America. The Treehouse (from which all official translations flow for first party games) is kept fairly constantly in check on account of the higher ups USUALLY wanting to save the perception of their babies. I mean if this is specifically Nintendo OF AMERICA then I’m not surprised since they’ve definitely had some controversies with localization in the past (some I’m willing to accept and others not so much) including stuff one could consider to be on the leftist side of things. If this was about the main Nintendo company in Japan and not just a branch I’d be more concerned. Granted Nintendo of America is under Nintendo as a whole so they’d have to run things by the main company first, but i’ll how much independence NoA has here.
Either way it really isn’t good and NoA should just scrap this stuff since at best they won’t make as much money as they otherwise would and at worst it will screw them over in the long run.

I just recently watched the Mario movie. Mario was not the main character and was only being dragged around reacting and not being proactive. Over all it was a forgettable, mediocre movie.
Nintendo has been absolute trash for the last 10 years. Hopefully this will be a wakeup call to detach from Western culture. No one wants to buy Western games at all anyway.
The fact that princess Peach wasn't captured by Bowser and wasn't the damsel in distress means the film was influenced by the woke agenda. However I also heard that the creators of it fought hard to keep out as much woke as they possibly could behind the scenes.

my only problem with the Mario movie is that they changed the art style for Peach. I've played Paper Mario, I know that she can be a girlboss if she needs to and her being in that mode all the time before she really grew up, that's fine. I just hate how she looks, when her game design is literally perfect.
