  1. Here's the thing: the Switch isn't slowing down as far as software titles coming out, and it's hard to imagine them announcing a new Switch that's not backwards compatible and still expect people to buy the new Peach game or other games that are near the end of the current Switch's life. They don't want a dip in sales before the transition, so wouldn't that mean announcing a new system that plays current games so people will still buy current games knowing that as soon as they get the new system they can play their recent purchases with better handheld resolution? Otherwise don't buy the new games until they come out with the Switch 2 versions of the games. I just don't see them having two versions of games sitting on store shelves. I see Switch games and then the launch titles for the new system sitting there side by side. The incentive to buy the new system could be the ability to play new system games as well as Switch games in 1080P on the handheld screen.

Also, eShop purchases are tied to the Nintendo Account that made the purchase, and if you get a new Switch (like upgrading to the OLED model) all you have to do is transfer your account over, or even just login to the account, and you can start re-downloading all your games. Talking about the Nintendo account transferring over would sound kind of odd if it didn't include all the eShop purchases. How would it be a smooth transition if all your previous purchases were gone and you had to start over?

  2. I think people forget that the Switch from a hardware perspective was never the product Nintendo wanted to make. The chip set was off the shelf Nvidia Tegra X1 that was not customized to their specifications. To have that chipset, that everyone complains about now as a limiting factor to the feature set and architecture of the new Switch chip set would be a tragedy in my opinion. I would rather have the best performing Switch 2 than one that can play Switch games and be gimped for it.

  3. I don't understand why so many have such a big hang up about backwards compatibility. If you want to play your Switch game, just play it on your actual Switch! Personally I don't want it. That way, it light's a fire under Nintendo's a$$ to produce good NEW games for the new console, rather than riding the coat tails of the Switch. I want NEW stuff to play, not rely on last gen content. Those of us that actually had a Wii-U, know all too well about being resold content that was on the last gen console.
Backwards compatibility will allow Nintendo to drip feed new games because "Hey, you can still play the Switch games on your new console!" Nah, give us NEW stuff.

  4. I'm baaack…Yes Nintendo does have the most 1st party games and it's great ..but the question is why do they.?.. maybe cos they barely get 3rd party support they can't sit back and cruise they have to keep turning out games imo🤔

  5. For the PS Vita the Game Cards were writable. 10% of the space was reserved for Game Patches and Save Data. Nintendo could do this for the Switch game cards but they either didn’t think of it or it wasn’t viable at the time due to the size of the cards themselves. For the Switch 2 if the game cards are 64GB then around 6GB would be reserved for the Game Patches and Save Data. But if there are 128GB Game Cards then the breathing room would be insane… 13GB+ for patches and data. The thing is 128GB SD cards are relatively cheap nowadays so… why cant Nintendo invest in this technology? It would make Physical Media more relevant. They were constantly stating the Nintendo Switch Game Cards are “Expensive to make” a throwback to N64 days huh. However… Nintendo is literally manufacturing 100s of Millions of these Game Cards. Meaning the cost of production would be significantly cheaper. Also as the years go by it will be cheaper year on year to make 128GB cards. What is Nintendo’s true excuse for not doing this?

  6. What youre doing is creating uncertainty to continue creating content for your Nintendo channel about it and have more visits. I doubt that the system wont be compatible with switch games, like if it is something never done by Nintendo. If at the end it isn't well bad move by them. For now I dont see why they wont be compatible. We have to wait and see.

  7. Nobody can really know until the system comes out i would hope it backward compatible physically and digitally but nintendo previous history has been known. To have previous systems to be backward compatible like gameboy with gamecube. Gamecube and the wii, i believe the wii might have backward compatible with the wii u and ds with the 3ds, worst case senario would be switch 1 games being backwards compatible with switch 2 but switch 2 games might not work with switch 1

  8. Nice stuff RGT 85.

Yh this Interview isn't giving much away but it's nice too know our Accounts is gonna be Swapping over too the Next System.

I am hoping the Switch 2 is gonna be like the PS5, with Backwards Compatibility.

I hope Dougie boy isn't let's just do Mario n Zelda Games because they Sell and not do some of the Franchises, cuz they are not big Sellers.

  9. No backward compatibility with switch games. Physical games as well. Then im not buying the new switch until a new zelda comes out.
I might not then ether. I think a lot of people will not give up their switch collection at the start if there is no backward compatibility.
Come on their best system ever and they'll just drop that user base for new hardware and games. That will piss off a lot of people.

  10. Nintendo is able to pump out so many first party games because, let's face it, they're not bad games but they're primitive in nature. Mario Wonder isn't taking 5 years to make with a 150 million dollar budget. Nintendo games don't have to worry about voice actors, high quality cinematics, 4k graphics and textures with stuff like Ray tracing and all this other crap. Nintendo has the ability to pump games out at a low cost and just make near pure profit.

The only game I can think of that Nintendo really had to take time on and had more of a high cost is the zelda games (BoTW and ToTK)

This doesn't downplay Nintendo really. Still make fun games it's just that most AAA devs are spending so much time getting their games to look and move as lifelike and realistic as possible so it takes SO much more time to make these games on Playstation or Xbox and they could STILL end up being underwhelming.

  11. SpawnWave yawn is the most boring person on the internet. Dude keeps an “ATgames Sega Genesis Flashback console “ in his background..😂😂 watch his psvita video if you don’t believe me

  12. RGT 85 maybe there isn't a switch 2 maybe the new console is a hybrid that's an upgrade like the ps4 had the pro and Xbox had the one x it could be the switch pro or Super Switch maybe ULTRA SWITCH like ULTRA 64 😎

  13. Zack over there on Switch Force’s take on the Bowser comments were a little more exciting. Let’s see what happens. Still haven’t hit 40K Maker 2 courses beat yet, therefore haven’t started Wonder yet, soon I tell ya
