The Nintendo Switch is about 7 years old, and has amassed an amazing backlog of games- but the hardware is feeling the age, and the Switch 2 promises to be on the horizon. Is the Switch still worth buying in 2024?

The Switch 2 is probably on the way, but the current Switch still stands as one of the greatest consoles ever made- with the massive library of games to back it up.
Speaking of which- what's your favorite game on Switch after about 7 years of so many classics? Probably Zelda TOTK for me, BOTW as well. Just awesome games.
I would consider it if you don’t have one and have never had the experience of owning one.
In my case, I’ve had it and eventually sold mine because of inflation and ended up needing the money at the time. After that, I really didn’t find myself wanting a new one besides certain times my wife and I were craving a session of Mario Kart.
I like the switch for their games and uniqueness, but I do feel like compared to other consoles it’s not the best, and it lacks in a lot of areas, like multiplayer, not being able to handle many games. But it by itself is great and I think it’s very niche. I also feel like when I’m on the switch like the console itself feels like I’m playing but with parents controls idk how to explain it I just feel like it lacks a lot tbh
Awesome. This must mean our yearly round of these videos is on the way
Got mine in 2022, don’t regret it the slightest bit.
Yes, it’s worth it. If you’re considering a console at this point, it’s because it’s not crucial to you to have a new console on Day 1. You have access to a large library or games without having to wait years for releases. You can purchase a more optimized version of the console, as first or second models have yet to discover what will be the system’s pain points. And lastly, as previously mentioned, you won’t have to wait years for releases on a new console.
The only problem with the switch, it's the price of the games, if you buy two games, that's already a lot of money, specially if you live in a poor country.
I noticed Steam deck prices went down drastically especially second hand. That makes buying switch big NoNo
If u want to have a switch better take the switch lite and wait for switch 2.at least u save a money
The only thing keeping the switch from being worth it is the inevitable sequel. If you have no plans to spend 400 dollars on a future console, it is by far the best choice to make, the quantity of first party Nintendo games at 8/10 or higher is somewhere in the 40’s. It is simply the best system ever made, unless you count how good the ps2 was back in 2000.
I got my oled Switch on a deal. I paid $180 for it and so far I’m loving it.
Indeed it is. If you like their exclusives at least. Which I do.
Let’s face it. Nintendo wants to beat the long record of PS2. This is their best chance to do so. So they will only release brand new console after breaking it
Great video! I own both the Lite and OLED. To be honest I’m in not rush for a Switch 2 yet. Like you mentioned, there are soo many great games that I still haven’t played lol. And many are on back log. This is a great console and I plan on giving my 3yr old the lite as his first console 👍🏽
To the idiots that bought the flash cart:
You are part of the fucking problem when nintendo decides that the next console is NOT backwards compatible.
No
The price of the games, mostly from Nintendo, are crazy…
i got one from 2019 and it is on life support
Nintendo has NOT been silent the internets just dumb. Nintendo said 5 years in its halfway done and each start of fiscal year tells investors if new hardwares coming.
Yes. Even better if you mod it.
Hacked oled is worth it otherwise no … Wait for next console
