TEAM SGG PATREON The OnePlus 12 has INCREDIBLE cameras for its price! It’s nearly identical to the performance of the more expensive OnePlus Open, and it gives iPhone Pro and Galaxy Ultra phones a run for their (higher) money. Here’s a quick look at what…

  1. almost bought it! but then I had to save money and buy a cheaper phone. so I had to let go of the idea of buying a good camera phone. bought a galaxy A35, good phone, bad cameras🙁

  2. Today ordered OnePlus 12, the 16GB/512GB Black, as an upgrade to my 10 Pro 12GB/256GB. I am getting it for around USD715, think for the price this is one of the best, if not the best, including UFS 4.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 support at last.

  3. Solid camera algorithms in some areas and very bad in another compared to my 2 last phones 1+9pro and xiao 13 pro.
But xiao was 850$ 8 month ago and 1+12 is 665$ now. Almost the same camera capabilities, but xiao is better.

  4. the main thing that I dislike about Oneplus's camera is that at night, they create a "halo" effect around subjects. Other than that Oppo and Oneplus's processing is lovely!! Idk if they fixed it or not I mostly saw it discussed by Indian youtubers/ people with darker skin so maybe the algorithm isn't optimized for that so it's a bit of a bummer.

  5. Hi Juan, do you have problems with notifications on oxygen os 14? For me notification are cleared from the lock screen once I unlock the phone. They sre still visible in the notification bar and on AOD, but only new notifications show up on the lock screen.
I bought 10T and thought that was a software but, so I returned the phone. Then i bought OP11 and have the same exact issue 😢 Apparently it's not a bug, but a feature of OOS14.

  6. Love your work ❤️
Can you please comment on how Chinese phones in general make human subjects pale and in my opinion ruins the image, specially on the main wide lens
For landscape and general photography you're right there's almost no difference between a OnePlus and Samsung, it's photos with humans that exhibit the most difference
This issue has been there forever and it doesn't seem like the companies consider it a problem 😕

  7. Got the 12 for 450usd with trading in my 8T!! I cancelled my pixel 8a 256gb which was also 450usd. The only thing I'm not about this phone is, colors aren't natural at all indoors and front camera is meh tbh

  8. Hi Juan!
Just in case you didn't get the lastest update for the Open, it now supports master mode and raw+ "is no longer available". I feel like that raw option is what raw+ used to be
Eather way, really nice video, as always hehe 😁

  9. The only thing stopped me from getting this is it's weird design. I finally went for VivoX100Pro and i can say almost no phone comes close when it comes to the camera performance, rest is good as well.

  10. To expensive for my taste.
Here in Europe, you can often fined s24 ultra and iPhone 15 pro max on sale(or on contract )for the same price.
OnePlus can have some fans who will fight it has a great camera, charging so and battery, but they ar missing brand recognition and the thing that it costs her 20-30% more than in USA and 50% more than in China( will definitely lose them a few of old OnePlus fans, who's main point of buying it was a price

  11. People don't ever use flash but I always consider it an option that might make a photo when you just NEED the photo to work.
The Pixel flash is under the lenses when holding the phone in landscape mode. That puts the shadow ABOVE the subject. Turn a Pixel upside down to get the shadow right.
The Oneplus, on the other hand, has thought that through. The main sensor is closest to the flash, making shadows less pronounced and correctly placed in both landscape and portrait orientation (shadows under subject in portrait, and in landscape lower and slightly to the right)
The tele lens is further from the flash making the shadow more pronounced but it is properly BENEATH the subject in portrait and clearly to the side in landscape.
I always wondered why they didn't put the main sensor in the bottom right camera hole (the one they put light sensors in instead) and one reason I see is that the flash would make more pronounced shadows if they used that hole cuz it is much further from the flash.
Now putting the sensor so close to the edge of the phone has made me look like an amateur GETTING MY FINGERS IN SOME PHOTOS- DOH! and a more centered sensor would have saved me from that mistake. So I "just" have to practice holding the phone better to hide my fingers from the frame. Old dog, new tricks.
To notice these shadows without needing to take a bunch of photos, use the always on mode for the flash.
My Pixel 7 doesn't have the flash always on mode like the OnePlus. (I just checked again) AND the flash is very far from the lens so it exaggerates the shadows so much that it makes the pictures look slightly evil with shadows towering above the subject.
I would venture to say that Oneplus used MORE thought than we realize on making flash useable.
Pixel, also uses nice thoughtful exposure and color decisions for flash but the upside down flash placement almost negates, for most people, those advantages.

  12. I love how you do nuance. And fair comparisons. And value for money.
Your b roll reminded me of a flash placement advantage of oneplus vs pixel. I will make a post about that……

  13. yeah but OnePlus Doesn't make me feel smart and special for buying them anymore. I'm not like other brand fans juan, I need my phone to be overpriced and have glyphs on the back…
