The Star Trek mouse, I believe that's supposed to be Wesley Crusher on the cover lol.
Hey LGR, I am sorry if this sounds cheesy or cringy, but I am around your age and grew up with the same technology and games as you. I had to leave behind the country where I grew up, leaving behind my friends whom I shared wonderful memories with playing the games you review (Dune, Ages of Empire, NFS…etc). Listening to your stories about your childhood, how some of these games helped you through some difficult times makes me feel like you were one of those friends I left behind and terribly miss every day. I empathize the loss of your sister, I lost my dad suddenly who put me on the path of PCs in the early 90s and also played a lot of games back then (NFL95, Sam and Max) and these games help me get through stuff as well. Your videos kind of helps me fill that hole and I thank you for that. I feel like you're a friend I always wanted to have. So…thank you!
PLEASE do a follow-up video on the Apple ][ PC Transporter! Would love to see an Apple ][ runnings IBM PC DOS stuff! Please please please please please please!!!!
Wow I used to have an Eee PC back in the day – I can remember using mine for coding while doing some work when I was on holiday one time; IntelliJ + Java + Tomcat running on an Eee ๐
please do a review on the zoo tycoon board game !
These are always a great blast from the past. Always enjoy them however while I get nostalgic I also feel melancholic as they just don't make tech like they did back in the 90s, the 90s had so much weird tech products, definitely the prime decade for oddware.
The dog from MS Bob was called Rover. Spot is the non-root account on Puppy linux.
Watching your videos is always such a treat!
The OSS sound card part on the Sim City is going to probably be the sticking point, unless ALSA's emulation is good enough. I had to patch in ALSA back in the day to get sound to come out of pretty much any sound card on Linux because OSS's set of supported cards was dire.
Dune Space Opera <3
I had that quiz wiz!! Its awesome!!
The old Compaq logo is so nostalgic, it reminds me when my mother bought our 1st home computer in 1998.
I never thought Iโd see a QuizWiz again in my life. Core memory right there.
Holy crap. I had that same thumb drive from Steve back in high school in the mid-00s. In fact I still have it and use it as a Linux install disk.
25:00 fire
I think the CD tower is just a storage and retreival system, probably linked to a simple database on the control PC. I don't think it's an actual CD drive.
For a video idea how about you send as many old software/game registration forms as you can and see the responses
Where can I see LGR Birds? ๐
Oh sweet, welcome to the Model M trackball world! For the longest time, my white whale was the M5-1. Both examples I own have problems, but c'est la vie. The M5-2's are really fun in a pinch (including the Unicomp USB version) for doing server work without having to make space for a mouse.
I used to have one of those Eee PCs. I remember installing Ubuntu on it. Then I upgraded to another MSI pocket laptop which I turned into a hackintosh…
can you do a video on the dick tracy smart watch, and the asus eee pc? i would love to watch that
That CD gave me some UInreal Tournament vibes.
I had that Tiger Quiz Whiz. haha
Did that Model M + trackball have a speaker on the bottom panel?
Is that Com Truise Galactic Melt on tape?????! ๐ฎ
Those EeePC were severely underpowered by the time they came out
