WOW, ClubCasino in Hampton beach NH. I will see you there my friend. Youre alwasy pretty far for me to consider going to any shows, Hampton Beach is 85 miles from my house.
Seen a lot of great shows there from the late 80s-2017. Generation Axe show in may of 2016, Several Robert Cray shows late 80s early 90's, saw Queensryche, Joe Cocker, STP, i want to say BB King. My old ass makes it hard to remember most of them, I had a cool in there, my Brother in law was a NH State Trooper and they got to goto shows VIP for free anytime and he would literally walk me up to back entrance and theyd allow me to go in free and would give me the front tables which were right up against the stage.
Just another thanks Pete for these vids. Very relaxing and informative on an intimate level. Us gearheads get our fix.
@PETE THORN, you were real close with your recomendation for the EVH Diver down p'u tone. it is indeed a JB but
not tapped you want to wire it parallel. Paul Gilbert used a JB in parallel years back. I tried it and was like
it sounds like the Diver down tone!😁Like a fatter single coil tone with no hum. One trick that is maybe even better is to
use Seymour Duncan's "spin a split mod" this is where you wire one of your tone knobs to control the amount of output from the one coil of the JB. You can dial it in so the one coil is only at 15%, 25%,50% or 75% output while the other coil is at Normal full output.
Really versatile mod.Good for many things not just Old EVH tones.
Just logged on I missed the live show and just saw some sad news Myles Goodwyn passed away today. April Wine was Myles and they made some kick-ass Canadian Rock! I wore out Nature of the Beast and Harder Faster and also saw them live they were a great rock band. Rest in Peace Myles 1948-2023
@DougMorisoli Muff after Klone, Rat after Muff. The reason you put a Klon or Tube Screamer into the Muff is so it can filter the Muff's input kind of like an EQ. The other thing is a Jordan Bosstone or Dist+ type circuit makes for another rhythm or lead tone that can cut through the Muff rhythm sound (Bosstone-Muff is "Cherub Rock" chorus sound, after Muff alone for the verse, for example). Other, "true" fuzzes like Fuzz Face, Tone Bender, etc are definitely a First-In-Gain-Chain situation like Mr. Thorn said.
