Genuine resistor was brown so most likely poor design or culprit to lower life span. It gets most likely high current shock when motor starts. Also one rectifier diode was faulty but most likely those faults were independent.

Those are fairly easy to work on. Usually S0AD70A laser goes bad. It is a decent player yet sound isn't that great. O had one and probably the worse Technics CD player i have had. Thanks for tips for repair 🙂

To pull out that board you need to unscrew front not back to pull it out.
