These batteries ARE interchangeable and there's several forums where people have reported switching to the SR04XL with no issues. BUT all of these reports seem over a short time period of less than 6 months. So as it may work its hard to say if running a higher voltage battery could damage the laptop over time. There's a good chance its fine and won't be a problem BUT if your laptop is important or you can't afford to replace it just get the recommended SR03XL.
