USB EPROM burners such as the TL866 cannot produce the 26v needed to burn HV EPROMS such as MCM68764 or MCM68766 which are direct 24 pin replacements for the 2364 kernal ROMS used in the SX-64 or C64.

  1. Brilliant. The project has made a number of appearances on YouTube but this is the first full tutorial I've seen. Better than my own YouTube tutorial I had years ago (I took it down because it was rubbish). I have linked to this video on the project page. The reason I designed it was the same reason you mention. I wanted to replace a 2364 without an ugly adapter board hanging off it!
