Dang, was already dialing Eric up to buy these parts when he says no water pump, deal is OFF😂
Prevent of steps to take. Install drain plug with magnetic tip. If forbidden glitter “metal shavings” is on the drain plug. Time to inspect. I first thing cut oil filter open check for metal, second removed the VVT solenoid and check the metal screen for metal shavings.
Oil I have used in my vehicles one of which was a hemi and never had engine problems until sold with 230k miles on it, was Valvoline synthetic blend. And the other is Castrol synthetic blend. Oil changes every 3-4k miles. Oil filters I recommend factor mopar oil filter, WiX and K&N
I would love to start a business like this
That almost explains the hemi tick that thay all have
The intake is what u really want.
So when you asked us if we thought you were going to do OK on this engine or not, for those of us who are new here, what constitutes doing good for you?
whats your oil of choice for the V8's??
I don't mind you making money.
16:06 and the big three wonder why people are telling them to eff off and buying Toyotas
Your videos never fail to make me want to change my oil
Hmmm.. hone the cylinders… put a hellcat oil pump.. texas speed cam… some good lifters and Redline oil… good to go!
Our shop got a reman 5.7 for a '15, from Chrysler, it had No heat tabs, anywhere, so when the exhaust rocker shaft bolts came loose, the pushrod fell down, and bent, Chrysler did not want to warranty it, despite their reman tag on the block. Went 800 miles before it started missing.
I was told you are better off replaceing the oil pump wich you can get better oil flow
I think it comes down to maintaining the engine I have a 6.1L hemi I do regular service on it an the transmission it's a good engine never let me down plenty of power very fun car to drive at the end of day all engines need TLC
This was caught pretty early, especially compared to mine. When I bought mine is was running on 6 and had begun to spall Everywhere on the cam. New cam, pushrods, lifters and cam bearings and ran good again. A wonderful bargain for $2k
Just a quick question. Why not send the engine parts out for rebuild?
The high camshaft is great for rocker geometry, but……
Might as well have those ported and polished after being machined! Go big or go home!
Ever notice that every Hemi tear down has shown lack of oiling has caused the problems with Hemis? Most all of them have lifter problems, rod and main bearings problems. If you notice the camshaft is in like a tunnel with few openings that doesn't allow oil splash from the rods and piston skirts. The older Hemis had a bolt on cover that allowed oil from the top of engine to drain back to the camshaft and lifters. The same problem exists in LS and LT engines. No oil drain back to the camshaft and lifters and the camshaft is in a tunnel like space. Poor design from the engine designers!
I know is too much to ask but can anyone link or help me find an in detail tear down of a TU5JP (NFZ) engine pls. I´ve been searching and I love this videos but is practically impossible an american channel like this is goona feature a French engine
For a second there, I thought perhaps that the thing that wasn’t a spark plug was the cause of that cylinder‘s probable misfire, and that’s why the engine was returned.
Some of those pistons looked ok, others not so much. I wouldn't and i don't know many people who would chance using a water or oil pump off a core engine. I'm sure there are some people who dont know better or just don't care. If your one of those people. Think about how much you'd want to pay for that water pump. Ask yourself if you think it would be financially worth it for someone to sell them. That alone makes it not worth it. Then when you factor in how much grief your going to deal with when that water pump fails quickly, destroying the customers engine. Its really not worth the pennys he'd be making off a water pump. Personally, I love it when he fires them accross the shop. Its probably the best use for them. 😂
If I had to guess whenever that engine was rebuilt, they did a very poor job at cleaning and removing any debris from the block. Clean clean and clean some more.😊
Another great autopsy Doctor, cause of death same as always, lack of lubrication
Great video as usual. Your hammer is wasted! LOL
eric i want my 10 valve cummins
I always knew Dodge vehicles were shitt.
Ahh man, he's screwed.. No water pump 🙁
I would love to see a toyota 22re teardown, if you can find one blown up😂
The block is very sellable, along with the crank and heads. I think you’ll make good money from that one.
Is there any update on that Cummins that you added the inspection port and cylinder deactivation to?
I mean its a 6l block of american iron… probably worth scrap money lol
Hoping to see a M6x one day haha
