  1. I have found that the LG heat pump, though smaller than the GE, dries more efficiently. You gentlemen make a great point about simultaneously washing and drying using separate units.

  2. Thanks so much for reviewing these! I am ready to move to a single unit in the kitchen instead of two hulks sequestered in the basement. Plus lower energy use and “set it and forget it”

  3. You guys were more right talking about the unknown and probably crummy reliability as a reason not to buy one vs the "a lot of laundry" argument. The two families I know that have 4+ kids that have the GE one no longer do multiple loads every couple days, what they do is throw all the laundry for the day in there and run it overnight so it's dry in the morning almost every day. If they need to do bedding or something they throw that in in the morning and unload it at night. They also both replaced the washer and kept their old dryer for now so they can run it old school style with just the wash happening in the all in one if needed. I think, if the reliability looks ok and the prices come down they will eventually replace the dryer with a second unit or get a heat pump dryer instead for that spot to maintain emergency throughput capability. I'll believe reliability when I see it though, it looks like a ticking time bomb to me (which is sad because otherwise I love the idea and would totally buy one once my 10 year old samsung set does what a 10 year old samsung set does and eats it).

  4. Bought one of the GEs and it was great until it wasn't. I say give it a few years for them to work out all of the kinks. One of the service men that came to our house didn't even know what some of the error codes we were receiving meant. I just feel like they're so new there is so little info out there on how to even fix them.

I've also seen in other YT videos by repairmen where they suggest putting tape around the edges of the lint trap in the GE to prevent lint from passing into the coils. I don't think a new machine should require that.

  5. These have been around for a long time. In 1955 my large family bought a Bendix Duo-Matic combo washer dryer. It was a solid performer, it ran constantly, but would bake the clothes dry. In the 70s I had a GE Combo, and it was solid, but would bake the clothes dry. I owned an Equator combo that was small, but competent. The Latest is an LG combo, and it works extremely well. It's my first condenser dryer combo, but I'm proactive on keeping it clean. It does a great job of drying without wrinkling the clothes. (You must use ultra fabric softener.) The deal is, I'm single, so my demands are low.

  6. I had 2 Samsung Washers and both started with same issues: pumps are totally made of plastic. The softener pump failed first on both then the other pumps. High price, 5 times more than entry points, top of the range, but very fragile.

  7. wife & i are considering the samsung bc it just makes sense as renters & is easier to move/worry about one machine. but hard not to consider the old school cheap white ones that u can get wherever/forever, in terms of longevity & cost

  8. Just an update on the ‘All In One’ washer/dryer combo. We purchased the GE Ultrafast with a riser and it was delivered June 06, 2024. I have been putting it through its paces to see of any problems and happy to say ‘it works’.
This is our first ‘Front Load’ washer/dryer and it seems to have a real vibration when doing a high speed spin during the load sensing and spinning water out of the clothes. I am thinking it is a balance issue even though my level shows its level. However, GE is sending out a technician this coming week (June 25th) to check it out and troubleshoot. The customer service agent said she was not a technician, however thought it shouldn’t be vibrating so much. We shall see what the technician determines with an easy fix if there is a problem.
Now back to the Ultrafast, it works very well thus far and give the clothes a ‘snap’ to take out the humidity after drying, it does work. The only time I have had to do some more dry on a few items, is when I had some towels with regular clothes. Thus the sensor may not have misjudged due to the different types of material, otherwise when towels are a separate load they come out dry when done ‘do the snap’. I have not had anything go much longer than 2 hours 10 minutes, most have been much shorter. The sensing does adjust the time during the cycle’s.
Lint issue: There has been a bit of lint buildup in the far back of the filter, just a small amount getting past the lint filter. I have thus far not seen any lint on the condenser coils of the heat pump. So this is very good thus far, however I am considering putting the foam seal I have seen on other video’s on the back of the filter to keep the buildup down, but then my lint tool has been able to clean it out thus far.
My current thoughts on the topic and best to all!

  9. My to all of you that have these washer/dryer combo’s
I have heard you have to take half of the washing load out to dry? How true is that?
Also can you wash a king size comforter in any of these?
    Thank You for your time!

  10. I have something to add: If your one of those idiots who’s going to complain “like omg 5 hours is way too long to have my 75 pound down feathef comforter WASHED AND DRIED” don’t buy this. What’s wrong with 5 hours to wash a massive comforter? 50 years ago that took my grandmother 24-48 hours and it dried outside. 2 hours sounds wonderful until you run a bacteria black light over it and inside it then one day get lung cancer and just cannot figure out why?? Let’s say one miraculous day a machine can do it in 2 hours flawlessly clean and dry, you know damn well you’ll be asking for the next machine next year to do it in 30 minutes. Genius level engineers who understand the limits of physics in the universe HATE PEOPLE LIKE THIS!!! They truely have no idea how good they have it and are CONSTANTLY asking for more more more. Regarding comforters, there will always be a day of the month your gone 5 hours to work or do errands which is plenty of time for this machine to run a 5 hour cycle, with everything done and ready when you arrive back home with no need to move it over to a 2nd machine for a 2nd cycle, sitting wet waiting till you get back to start the dry cycle, it’s just done. Maybe the reason the other two all in one machines cannot get a comforter dry is because the engineers are listening to whinny clueless idiots who fell like it should do it in 2 hours, and they caved in and wrote software for the machine. It’s nice to see Samsung NOT giving into an idiots demands. 5 hours is nothing to have a comforter WASHED AND DRIED! WITH ONE MACHINE. How often do you wash a comforter?? If it took 5 hours to wash a towel or my shorts then I’d see a problem with 5 hours. If you want this technology to succeed like I do, you gotta put these stupid soccer moms in Thier place about washing king sized comforters. I’d honestly be worried if a machine told me it could perfectly wash AND dry that large of a load in less than 2 hours without using 1000 degree heat.

  11. DONT BUY SAMSUNG… Im not even watching the video, came here to leave my experience. Bought brand new for almost $1000 just 3 years ago. 1. Replaced bearings, completely broken (take the while thing apart, like 8 hours labor), 2. Replaced Inverter Computer (completely burned black spot on the motherboard), 3. Just had to buy new Hall Sensor…. 🤦‍♂️ not even sure if that will fix the newest issue or not….

  12. Being able to grow a load in when I start my day and have it washed and dried when I get home is wonderful. I do at least four loads a week and to be able to do it during the week and not have to over the weekend, freeing up time to do fun stuff is lovely. They will become the norm, we are just behind the rest of the world. I also know multiple large families that are using one of these and they love it. Its super easy to just make a change, do a load in the morning put it away when you get home and then do a load at night and put it away in the morning – you could do fourteen loads a week without rushing (and no nasty mildew results because you got distracted and forgot to transfer the load).

If you aren't removing the lint after every load on a regular dryer you should be using a fluff and fold service because you are just killing your regular dryer and risking fire due to build up in the venting -its basic required maintenance. I just don't get the people who are incapable of doing the regular maintenance on their equipment and then are shocked when they get a new unit and they have to do the maintenance to keep it running (which is in the manual).

  13. I have the LG Combo washer and dryer . Just bought for $1k at Best Buy outlet. Works great if you have lazy teenagers that forget to take out load after washing than gets smelly. They can set it walk away & have a fresh dry load after 3 hours.

If you like to wash quick like a crackhead you also have that option. Quick wash is 20 min. Then you can set to dry for 30-40 minutes.

  14. Conserning the more time it takes:
    1) How many times you forget or are not available to put the washed cloths on the dryer?
    2) With two machines, laundry is mainly done during WE. With that kind of machine, you can spread that nore dutring the week, because it does all the job and it doesn't matter if you leave it for a long time after it's done (unlike with a wasing machine).

  15. These things have been on the market for decades! They are very problematic! Just talked to an appliance repair man he advised me to stay away from them! Unless you live in a tiny house or efficiency apartment stay away! Junk!

  16. I will save any consumer a waste of time that wants a product to work. GE always made great dryers. Whirlpool always made great washing machines. You do not need the latest model. I would focus on the largest size.

  17. We have been thinking about the GE Profile since last year. I have watched a ton of videos on them. I am really good at keeping my current machines cleaned out, but I have one big question. We have a Husky. Before I spend $2000+ for this, what are your thoughts on what the dog hair may do to the heat pump even if I do keep it as clean as possible?

  18. Hmm, I think you are confusing the motor job with the tub job. The motors are not a 4 hour job, as they can be accessed from the rear after you take off the cover. They are mounted to the tub and come off rather easily. The hardest part is getting the unit out, but overall, it is an easy job. Now a tub job, that is different…

  19. Samsung does have its own service department this review seemed a little ge shewed why exactly did you get to talk to the ge engineers and you have no kind of monetary compensation I'm just wobdering
