Why still use this phone ??? Why not upgrade to a newer model , should of watch the rest of the vid before commenting 😂😂😂 cheers Hugh
Great phone, shame there are no comparable, modern alternatives. I care too much about safety/vulnerabilities to daily a phone that hasn't seen a security update in years and, never will again. I think the fact that Blackberries are still popular (although very niche) says more about today's lack of options.
I love how because its his personal phone he just re used the glue for the battery and just non chalant about everything. I love it.
i also replaced the battery i my key2 but the new one inflated within 4 months. where did you buy yours?
hows your space bar doing? the one on my key2 is very dodgy. seems to be a comman fault.
Nice repair on what i believe is the last phone wuth a physical keyboard. However, personally i just dont think it is worth doing. This phone has Android 8 only, which cant even run Microsoft Outlook – that now requires Android 9.0+. Its time to put this phone to rest in a nice send off to retirement. Jusy buy a Galaxy A52S 5G, which has Android 14 and can be found for less than £200 ‐ which for you, will be under $350 AU. The A52S 5G also has dual SIM capability, a decent camera, and a massive 5Ah battery, so overall a massive step up from that Ancient Blackberry.
too bad there is no official lineageos for this phone
I was also using a 6 years old phone until recently. It just became too slow for normal usage as a main phone. The battery is still good, the camera is decent enough and everything works, so its really unfortunate that it's just so slow.
I had a feature phone (dumb phone) with physical qwerty keyboard just when smartphones were getting popular. I always wanted a smartphone with physical keyboard, but smartphones with physical qwerty keyboard were too expensive for me at the time that feature phone died, so i got stuck with "normal" smartphone and when that died, the era of physical qwerty keyboards was gone.
In Europe there are thankfully a lot of new phones with dual SIM capability. Even the lower tier ones.

Love your videos it shows enthusiasm in fixing devices. Important message.
So I was talking to my buddy about phones and telling him how I used to love my BB Storm. Before I got Android (the first Motorola Droid) A lot of ppl seemed to hate it but I absolutely loved mine. Then I start seeing vids suddenly on YT 🤔
The Key2 LE:
"Just let me die"
Hugh Jeffreys:
" No "
That's a nice looking phone–keep it out of your pocket.
Nice one ❤
Not sure how you are so lucky with the parts. Most i received lately were all defective in one way or an other. Personally stopped repairing phones.
2:00 that’s why lightning is better than USB-C
Look at this goofy ahh phone 1:15
So there is no 3rd party way to update it like install an os on it or something?
I LOVE PRIV. Hope someone will revive the form factor and design
I'm wondering whereas this model has any custom rom builds available out there or not. Because if so then it can breathe in a whole new life into the phone given a few sacrifices
Am I the only one who daily drives a keyone?
1:15 the notification sound bro
What about the 3G shutdown? Would you ever do a video where you would build an Android rom and install it? I'm curious about how to do that to my phones.
Some of the largest criminal acts our government has perpetrated upon us have been done with the use of blackberries.
Now time to unlock bootloader and put android 14 custom rom on it.
Се съм виждал ама от теб това не очаквах
8:48 this means the "cunterfit" its actualy a remanufactured just with the offlical braning applied even though its not
That broken plastic around the phone and the charge port is terrible
If I was running Android 8, I'd be worried about the lack of security patches.
I found a exploit which can allow for a downgrade my guy hope it works
wow and peace be upon you sir from me
it's actually a blackberry branded phone by tcl
For physical dual SIM, you could always look at Xiaomi and Oppo phones. All of their phones (including flagships) still have it.
That is a very good phone you have there if you want a duel sim phone and it has all the bells and whistles then look at the SONY Xperia XZ Premium it the same size screen and its the only phone that I know of that has an actual 4K screen . It cones with Android 8 but is upgradeable to Pie on Sony site and also there is a HUGH following on XDA you can flash the newest android 13 on it as well if you need the new OS I still use Pie on mine and I love the phone and battery life is pretty good as well.
My daily drivers are the Sony Xperia XZ Premium and its baby brother Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact with all the same features as it big brother but with a 1080p screen and is 5.2" instead of 5.5" and YES both are DUEL SIM Global phones.
I use mine on Mint Mobile/T Mobile
4:45 Is it really fine to use a metal tool in the charge port? I've always used wooden toothpicks out of fear of shorting something or damaging the port
