  1. Great phone, shame there are no comparable, modern alternatives. I care too much about safety/vulnerabilities to daily a phone that hasn't seen a security update in years and, never will again. I think the fact that Blackberries are still popular (although very niche) says more about today's lack of options.

  2. Nice repair on what i believe is the last phone wuth a physical keyboard. However, personally i just dont think it is worth doing. This phone has Android 8 only, which cant even run Microsoft Outlook – that now requires Android 9.0+. Its time to put this phone to rest in a nice send off to retirement. Jusy buy a Galaxy A52S 5G, which has Android 14 and can be found for less than £200 ‐ which for you, will be under $350 AU. The A52S 5G also has dual SIM capability, a decent camera, and a massive 5Ah battery, so overall a massive step up from that Ancient Blackberry.

  3. I was also using a 6 years old phone until recently. It just became too slow for normal usage as a main phone. The battery is still good, the camera is decent enough and everything works, so its really unfortunate that it's just so slow.

I had a feature phone (dumb phone) with physical qwerty keyboard just when smartphones were getting popular. I always wanted a smartphone with physical keyboard, but smartphones with physical qwerty keyboard were too expensive for me at the time that feature phone died, so i got stuck with "normal" smartphone and when that died, the era of physical qwerty keyboards was gone.

In Europe there are thankfully a lot of new phones with dual SIM capability. Even the lower tier ones.

  4. So I was talking to my buddy about phones and telling him how I used to love my BB Storm. Before I got Android (the first Motorola Droid) A lot of ppl seemed to hate it but I absolutely loved mine. Then I start seeing vids suddenly on YT 🤔

  5. That is a very good phone you have there if you want a duel sim phone and it has all the bells and whistles then look at the SONY Xperia XZ Premium it the same size screen and its the only phone that I know of that has an actual 4K screen . It cones with Android 8 but is upgradeable to Pie on Sony site and also there is a HUGH following on XDA you can flash the newest android 13 on it as well if you need the new OS I still use Pie on mine and I love the phone and battery life is pretty good as well.

My daily drivers are the Sony Xperia XZ Premium and its baby brother Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact with all the same features as it big brother but with a 1080p screen and is 5.2" instead of 5.5" and YES both are DUEL SIM Global phones.
I use mine on Mint Mobile/T Mobile
