Frightening how relevant this is to me right now, I'm an old, old fella with not much road left in front of me. I used to play and repair amps and guitars locally and blues – Elmore James, in my case – was the main source I tapped into. Due to circumstances of living in the broken Britain of 2023, I am back doing small repairs and recording my own music to avoid YouTube copyright strikes. I've also had a resurgent joy for once again sweeping along country roads on a motorcycle, and fishing the rivers of my long, lost youth beside these same roads. It's strange how, toward the back of my life, fishing, motorcycles, and music have merged once again into my lane.
