  1. We all made fun of the kid in Over the Top because he was always crying. However, what would you do if your dad played a mean trick like that on you…took you to a diner and without saying anything to you beforehand, challenged a bigger kid to arm wrestle you for money?

  2. Yes I'm a huge Cobra aficionado too. I can't walk past a supermarket Walkie Talkie system without wanting to grab it and say "Hey Dirtbag, You're a lousy shot, I hate lousy shots, You wasted a kid for nothing, Now I think it's time to waste you".

  3. Imo Stallone's most overlooked/underrated film of this period is the excellent Nighthawks (81 )with Sly as somewhat burned out NYC undercover robbery division detective Deke DaSilva drafted reluctantly into a fed task force to take down master terrorist Wulfgar (Rutger Hauer) on a NYC rampage. Great supporting cast: Billy Dee Williams, Nigel Davenport, Joe Spinnel, Persis Khambatta. I wish Nighthawks was better known. Of course I love Cobra too, it really is an excellent action thriller.

  5. I saw 'Tango & Cash' when it came out in theatres, and I love it! I could watch it once a week and never ger tired of it. The chemistry was off the charts for Sly and Kurt and I wish they had done a sequel. That said, I also really like 'Lock-up', too. But I like dark action-thrillers.

  6. Love it and i too burst into FEEL THE HEAT moments, big fan of COBRA who had the longcoat the match and the Sunglasses first, Stallone in this of CYF in Better Tomorrow eh? OVER THE TOP i hated at the time, but revisited a while back and far more fun than i remembered….and ah TANGO AND CASH great fun but so much BTS madness……

  7. “You’re a disease, and I’m the cure” I still say to my youngest son before I jump on his bed and start tickling the crap out of him. He’s at the age where parents aren’t cool, and the lines I quote to him I honestly hope he’ll figure out one day. Love cobra!!

  8. Over the Top was filmed at an Armwrestling tournament that was put on specifically for the film. They had qualifying events all over the world culminating in the event at the end of the show.
As you said John Brzenk was there and he genuinely won the truck in the film, other world champion armwrestlers that were there were Johnny Walker, Cleve Dean (two of the action figures you showed) and Allen Fisher.

  9. Cobra was kinda Cool could have been a another good franchise over the top had it's moments not a perfect movie but ok tango &Cash always enjoyed and still do haven't watched it in a while the 80s where a good time at the theater then un like today

  10. These are 3 of Stallone’s best non Rocky/Rambo 🍿 Movies. Tango & Cash is my personal favourite of the 3 as Sly and Kurt Russell make a really great pair (especially as it originally was supposed to be the first onscreen pairing of Arnold Schwarzenegger with Sylvester Stallone). It also created the classic onscreen line “Fubar” which Annie recently used for his recent Netflix series.😊
