Still Best Budget Gaming Laptop? Lenovo LOQ 15 (2024)

i found you yesterday whilst doing some research on what laptop i am going to purchase this week (msi Vector gp68HX 13VI-236AU as pretty much all other brands aren't sold here in Perth and are mail order only :(, we only have two really high end computer shops, PLE and Austin that stock laptops above 3 thousand dollars and they only have rog or msi) one of the factors in my decision was tech support. as getting gear from online stores or stores based over east means if they break like an MSI i owned previously to get it fixed i had to courier it back to Sydney to be repaired then sent back, so at least a week and a half with out the laptop if they can fix it. Admittedly this is an issue that is pretty much only applicable to Perth due to its remoteness and isolation. so was a factor in my decision.

Guys i need advice on a buy.

I'm looking to buy a 5600h + 3050 50w laptop with 1080P OLED.

My main requirement was a solid screen for streaming as well as powerfull enough to last 10 years for a office apps, browsing & streaming use only. Basically it would be a family computer for everyone to use.

My confusion is that there are other devices with i5 1340p, i5 12500h cpu but no discreet graphics & have better ports but smaller 14' screen.
My findings show that these cpus are at most 10%(1340p)-20%(12500h) faster & are not worth it. Rest all the things are same at same price.

Jarrod you have tested all the laptop last year. Did you get any laptop with coil whine issue in the mid to high range gaming laptop and how prominent the issue was with all laptop and when brand was the worst offender.

The only thing i like is that the new chassis and screen can go up to 180 °. Right now I don't see any reason to choose this laptop especially in my country where the last year version is significantly cheaper than this one

Seems like a downgrade to the 2023 model in some aspects. At first I was hyped but now I’m not sure how I feel about it.

Hey Jarrod, i found a legion 5 with ryzen 7 7735hs rtx4060 1440p screen on walmart for 850$ what do you think is it good?

1080p option is horrible choice, your eyes will bleed because of NTSC 45% color coverage, it's just bad, red is not red and actually looks like orange.

jarrod is not reviewing the new framework becasue the repairabilty score will make all other laptops look bad. and it would be hard to quantify.

I have a 4050 from last year's model which works great as a work laptop. I liked the ledge they had on the back of the laptop so that's a shame, but otherwise looks pretty solid!
